This billionaire bloke is really going for it.  He loves the Twenty20 format and thinks it will be the dominant sport in a few years.  With the amount of money he's looking to throw at it he seems as though he's going to give it his best shot.  Read and hear it here

Let's hope his vision and cash can accommodate some games in Guam and Vladivostok so we can see them at a reasonable hour.

I've been thinking about this -

I'm really enjoying IPL, no doubts about it. But it's not enough. I find myself missing the test match format during each match I watch.

There isn't the same skill on display in a 20-20 match. Sure, it's fun and exciting and a great spectacle. But I still need the long drawn out test where the bowlers and batsmen are on full display.

I have to agree with you deezee, nothing beats the spectacle of a test match..

This hit and giggle is ok for a change, but it is lightweight entertainment compared with a test match.

    Yep, exactly

There's just so much more to a test

Yeah, there's this thing called empty seats and boredom...  Test is fine for us purists but unfortunately that isn't enough these days.  Bums on seats is what counts.

True, tests aren't sold out all days. But from what I see (on tv) the weekends are usually packed.

Mind you, I've been noticing empty seats in the IPL too
