1st ODI: India v Australia at Vadodara, Oct 25, 2009
An excellent tight match...India losing by 4 runs...They got 20 off the penultimate over, needed 9 off the last, but fell 4 short...
Australia 292/8 (50 ov)
India 288/8 (50.0 ov)
India v Aust series again?
yep...7 x ODI's
No test?
Them too ![]()
A W E S O M E
And one more thing - is OneHD telecasting the matches?
*fingers crossed*
not the ODI's...don't know about other tour matches...
Wait up a bit...this looks like one of those rare occasions when I am WRONG...

This tour is just for the ODI's...there are no Test matches...profuse apologies ![]()

Awww.... bummer
After these seven ODI's Australia will return home to play three Tests against West Indies, before taking on Pakistan later in the summer.
Ahhh.... so they wanna start the home season with wins under their belts
Oh yes...and try to regain their top test ranking ![]()
They don't have it? Who's no 1? SA?
They are currently in fourth place after the poms hammered them in the Ashes 2009 series ![]()
South Africa, Sri Lanka and India are the top three...
http://www.cricinfo.com/rankings/content/current/page/211271.html
Sri Lanka at no 2! Wasn't expecting that.... they've had a good year!
Yeah, such a good year that they're queueing up to come to Australia..
That's not nice...but very 'australian'
Arseholes like you have made it hard for everyone else..
I often wonder how much meaning those ranking tables have other than being a catalyst for pundits to ponder over, forum posters to argue over and more importantly, alcohol fuelled discussions down the Pub...
Isn't that exactly what sport is for?
What am I missing?
You must be missing something Dek. If you are not, it will be a first... ![]()
You missed a rhetorical
Rumour has it that Arthur is missing both his rhetoricals...

I'm growing some more. Although it is difficult at my age... I've just realised, Chrome has a spell-checker...

Second ODI Nagpur
Australia took an absolute hammering from the Indians...They lost by a massive 99 runs...
India 354 for 7 (Dhoni 124, Gambhir 76, Raina 62*) beat Australia 255 (Hussey 53, Jadeja 3-35) by 99 runs
WOOT

Winning or wimping. That's par for the course for the Aussie cricket team. Although there is probably some perfectly good underlying reason for the failure of the machine. Maybe they were on another one of those doctored pitches or the weather wasn't quite right.
Perhaps a slight breeze or a bit of cool air maybe.
OMD. India actually won one
And how're you liking Chrome Mr Dent?
I thought chroming was illegal..(it is in Aust)![]()
Yes Arthur, I would assume that the pitch was doctored..(would be amazed if it wasn't)..
Ans then there's the slight problem of injury to Lee (elbow) and Hopes (hamstring) to contend with..
And how're you liking Chrome Mr Dent?
I rate things on the amount of hassle I get when I try to use them rather than the goodies that abound whatever I'm rating. I have to say that I do like Chrome. When compared with Firefox, Opera and IE8 it seems to process web-pages quicker and it is less tiresome to use than the others...
Yeah, that it does do.
The only thing that keeps me from using it as a primary is the url bar. Isn't as smart as FF
Third ODI Delhi
Australia went down again with a mediocre performance against India...
WOOT ![]()
India 230 for 4 (Yuvraj 78, Dhoni 71*) beat Australia 229 for 5 (Hussey 81*, Ponting 59, Watson 41) by six wickets
I just luuurve to see those arrogant aussies lose ![]()

India is leading 2-1 at this stage?
Yep
...and are really looking the goods
Awesome!![]()
the 4th ODI is tonight at Mohali
India won the toss and put the Aussies in. They got 250 all out off 49.2 - Not a good start for the Aussies....
Is it 3-1 yet?
No...it's all level. The Indians gave one back just to make it more interesting...
Australia 250 (White 62, Ponting 52) beat India (Tendulkar 40, Harbhajan 31, Sehwag 30) by 24 runs
D'oh
I was pondering whether or not to make that last post of mine. It obviously put some sort of bad luck on the Indians. What a shocker that LBW decision was! the umpire (man who needs eye amplifiers, glasses and a new perspective on the way cricket balls travel) was guilty of the worst LBW call I've seen since, well, I don't know if I've ever seen a worse one.
It's all Arthurs fault...
Mea Culpa ![]()
*TSK*
*shakes head indignantly*
You'd better make up for it for the next match!
First decent call of the year..![]()
The latest match seems to be wrapped up already by Australia. 350 off their innings. That's a big chase. Unless the doctored pitch or biased umpiring or weather intervenes India are well on the back foot.
Wow...another brilliant ODI. It was a shame that a dodgy run-out decision decided it...
Australia 350 for 4 (Marsh 112, Watson 93, White 57) beat India 347 (Tendulkar 175, Raina 59, Watson 3-47, McKay 3-59) by three runs
Australia 3 v India 2 with 2 more to play
...and it's all Arthurs fault...again...
Damn.... so close India.
Thought they'd be smashed when I saw Aust total last night
And how many of Aust's players are out injured? (no mention of that here).
Also no one has pointed out (till now) that Aust only lost four wickets during their 50 overs, whilst India were bowled out in 49.4 overs..
No doubt it was a (convenient) oversight and you all just forgot to give credit where it was due...
ummm.... no one said they didn't deserve it?
No one said "well done" either..(but we're used to that).
Aust 5-2..![]()
Well done to Australia! A good win to go ahead in the series. Although it was clear to see that the result was close enough to say that it could have been decided on the turn of a card so I wouldn't extract any conclusions of the winners being "superior" in any way.
The wicket loss part is irrelevant, anyone who understands cricket knows that a run chase, especially of a big score, requires different tactics than creating one at the outset.
As an afterthought, all credit to the Aussie coaches, it seems that the after being turned over in England that they have found a way to work around the wholesale cheating tactics of the places they are touring (doctoring of pitches, control of weather, selection of venues, crowd abuse of the captain and so on).
Great post Arthur, you should print a few copies of it, I'm sure the blokes down at your local pub will get a laugh out of it. (especially after a few pints)..
The Hindi radio show here announced India was at 50/5 and has declared Aust the winner of the series.
They then played the song Jai Ho for them
India are all out for 170 in 48 overs..
They made it to 170??
Yep, Tendulkar only made 10 this time..
Slow wicket may be a prob for the Aussies..
Hope so![]()
Australia. 172 for 4 (Watson 49, Hussey 35*) beat India 170 (Jadeja 57, Praveen 54*, Bollinger 5-35) by six wickets
Ha
Terrible
Well that was a shock
India must be total rubbish...chokers
Must be...

OYBB
So Aust win the series!..![]()
Again, all credit to the Aussies for pushing for the victory on an obviously off form India side.
And the gist of my last post didn't raise so much as a titter in my local pub, even when we'd had a few.
Your mates had obviously been keeping abreast of the times...
Yes it's very sad that so many sides we have played over the years have been off form, it's because we wait for them to lose form before agreeing to play them..
I'd get some new drinking mates if I were you Arthur, the current lot don't appear to have much of a sense of hunour..![]()
