Invites aplenty indeed - it says 999, but that may be code for "infinity limited to 3 digits"
If you want one either post your email here or add me as a contact then ask for one in a private dealy

hmm.. I now have 998 invites.. seems it is a finite amount of Joost to go around
Still, if I get anywhere close to using all of them then there'll be several hundred people here that you can ask, so I don't think getting Joost will be a problem any more

The great thing abt this, in this group, the more invites we give out, the 'richer' we get in the collective sense!

Got it. Downloaded it. Then lost it.
Joost does not work on your computer. You need a Mac with an Intel processor to run this version of Joost. The application will now quit.

Cool. First time I've managed to freak the app out. Apparently it's not sure whether you are cool enough Put in your details and sent an invite and it sat there thinking about it til it died. Fired it up again and retried, but apparently you're already in the system, so I guess that mean's an invite is on the way...
My first real negative (bug) for the app. If you try to put in a really long address, and then scroll to either end and back it gets confused and the redraw doesnt work. You also can't highlight what you've typed in. I guess 2 or 3 bugs justifies a Joost feedback group doesn't it.
The not being able to highlight part bugs me muchly
and I still have well over 900 invites if anyone wants

i agree with that 5thwall. cause of that i didnt use my joost for awhile, and i apparently forgot my username, and because of that and the fact that they still havent gotten back to me as to what my username is after a few weeks now, i can't even check to see if there's anything new there. i also have 3 invites, but i cant send them out cause i can't access my account...really cool

Man, what a painful process to bring friends in! You have to go to that special place to invite ppl, and it can only be done with joost in full screen, and when you finally get there, you can't paste the email addy you had copied

Paste works fine.. but having to go to full-screen sucks
I think all programs and applications everywhere need to realise that people multi-task now - the fact that I'm playing your game/using your service doesn't give you exclusive rights to my screen
I know its easy enough to get round - hit the windows key or Alt+Tab, but its still annoying
Even more so is when you play a really old game and it switches your resolution to some godforsaken setting like 800x600 or (even worse) 640x480. Most of the time it changes it back when I'm done... Most of the time
yeah..... and you can't resize the smaller screen either

i got an invite and downloaded joost, but it's kind of lame for all the hype. not much good stuff on it yet.
haha well hook all the other people up with an invite so they can see how lame it really is or is not i wouldn't know =P

Thanks for the invite if anyone needs an invite i can hand them some too. I thought it was interesting program, it does have a lot of good stuff going on but there just seems to be a lack of programs, i am sure that is temporary though.

I tried Joost a bit last month before they really opened up the beta test and thought it was a bit lame. Some good content for a start but just nothing really wowwed me. Also the client seems buggy and slow. Also being locked into the content they serve up just really doesn't fit with the way I like things. I much prefer Democracy TV that allows me to choose the content I get and where I get it from. Joost has potential if they can work out the bandwidth issues and client problems. They really need to score some big name content though if they are gonna get users to stay with it. These days I just think users want more personal choice and control thus a closed content system is likely to fail. I know about 5 others who were testing it and all of us have given up on it for the same reasons. If you haven't tried it yet give it a go for sure. I recently blogged about Joost as well http://www.netzkobold.com/index.php?/archives/247-joost-beta-invites-available.html and love it. I just set it up this weekend with my TV at home, now I have free legal p2p television on demand while sitting on the couch. Great service and approach and I'm anxious to see what's coming out of it. I received 206 invite requests based on my blog post, so there is definitely demand. I have more invites available if you haven't checked it out yet. Joost rocks!

What annoyed me was how every time you had to reinstall because of an update, it would forget what channels you had added/removed from your list
I have essentially given up on Joost though, may as well be uninstalled for all the use it gets

Annoyingly it doesn't seem to buffer the video or retain it after you've watched it, so there's really no way to get around the problem of choppy video because of it loading slowly

I don't know if this was posted beforehand... Joost Released a Special TechCrunch Branded Page so you can invite yourself. It's much easier this way... and the people doing the inviting don't have to boot-up joost everytime just to send an invite.

my joost experience
every release, a new download from the site. in a few months, i think i had to do this six times or more. your current version simply stops working - when it's nice, it offers a window "new joost release - pls go to the site".

together with lack of contents this turned me from a joost enthusiast into a joost plain supporter. i mean, the interface is great, the possibilities enormous but... patience isn't really one of my virtues
Does it still reset all your settings every time it forces you to install a new version or have they gotten over that now?
That issue, plus a lack of interesting content, plus slow loading (leading to jumpy video because it doesn't buffer when paused) plus the way it expects to be run in full screen when I'd much rather run it only in window mode have combined together and resulted in me removing Joost from my computer

what i think everyone is forgeting is that this is still a beta project. Things like this used to be normal, it was the price you payed for getting to use software before it is released. Unfortunately thanks to the web2.0 craze alpha is the new beta. and beta is supposed to be a fully functional product without any errors.
As someone in the software feel, im glad that when joost says they have a beta out, they really mean that they have a product out that they now need to test on alot of computers, collect back the data modify their program and start again. Because that is exactly what a beta is supposed to mean.
not like gmails, beta is an exclusive club of people who have access to a program that could roll out to the masses in its current state, but to create hype and media we'll call it a beta and only release it to a few people so that it looks cool and nifty

Joost did something strange.... I'd used your screen name as your name, but when it sent me the sent confirmation, it listed your name as choke tangler....
