Kurisu: What!? Why are you comparing Tangler with Streamy? They are too completely different thing, one's a discussion board for the new age, and one's a social news site (a la Digg). 

This screencast leads with whether things are on the left or right,  *groan*!!  .. they're trying to do too much with this service.

LOL. I guess you have a point there. But I think Tangler is all sorts of awesome already. I would need to test Streamy out to see how awesome it is. 

Tangler is great for discovering and discussing many different topics.  Streamy is more of a social network combined with news.

I found the idea great, as most Web 2.0 type thingies are, just the execution that makes or breaks it.

I actually am on Streamy (it's down right now, but I mean, I have access to it) and I can tell you it's worth the wait you guys are experiencing.  Right now the only way you're going to get an invite is straight from one of the developers, but I believe once this major upgrade is finished and any problems are ironed out the inviting will begin.

I'm on Streamy too, with adamant1988, and he sure isn't lying.  Streamy ROCKS.  The site should be back within the next day or so, along (hopefully) with invites.

 Edit: Well, it is back up, but no invites yet...

Well, they're SLOWLY scaling up.  So, it may be a while.  They're adding more and more functionality to the site as it goes on.

As far as saying that it is far superior than Tangler, I would not go that far. Remember, each site is geared to a specific purpose.

OK clearing up a little bit of confusion here...  Streamy is only like Tangler in the sense that communication between groups is encouraged.  That's it.  Past that Streamy is like a beefed up RSS-reader with lots of sharing features.  Cool stuff, but tangler and Streamy are very different services.

Anyone has 1 Streamy invite left for me?

I don't believe they are provisioning accounts, but I will try to see if I can get in for press for either Mashable or Tech In Demand and see if I can get them to give 5 or 10 invites for readers of my new blog possibly.  I am trying and I'll see if I can work something out.

It's pretty difficult to become a Streamy private beta tester. Even after spending more than a week, I see less than 150 Private beta testers. You guys should be patient. I'll surely invite some of you as soon as I've invites available. Yesterday, Donald (one of the co-founders) spent about 15 or 20 minutes  chatting about the features that they are planning to roll out within a week.

IMO, even if I had to wait 3 months for an invite, it was fine with me. Feeling lucky to be a beta tester because Streamy is the granddaddy of all feed readers + startpages.

Alright, finally got some invites. If someone wants a Streamy invite, let me know here.
