Anyone need a Grand Central invite?
Heya Pup! Long time no see!
What's Grand Central all about?
You get a free phone number from GC. Then you link it to any/all of your other phones. You give people one phone number to remember and they can reach you no matter what phone you are near.
You can also set up phone calls from web pages, switch phones during a call, set certain callers to go to specific phones, block callers, screen calls, personalize voice mail greetings, etc.
Having said all that, it looks like it might be a USA only thing.
P.S. it's now owned by Google.
Oh wow... that does sound handy. Nice.
Not yet. As we expand internationally, we will give you the option to pick an international GrandCentral number or forward calls to international numbers. Stay tuned.
Sounds like non-US folks will have to wait a little while.
Yeah...
Don't worry, dek. Google's World Domination Plan surely has a place for you.
HAHAHAHA
Not sure abt that! I have one phone, and don't receive many phone calls... I kinda have no use for GC at all!
(Must... resist.... GPlan)
What I want to test with it is whether it can handle extensions. If so, I could forward my cell phone calls to my desk phone when I'm in my office. (It's easier to manage when I am typing while on the phone paying close attention to the caller.)
I'd rather forward calls from my desk extension to my cell when I am away from my desk. That would be killer. I just don't see how to do it without forwarding every single call made to the central office number.
I got the impression from the description that it could
Yeah. I just got into it this morning and haven't taken the time to play yet.
I'm currently "paying close attention" to three other things.
Cool... I'd love to hear how it goes![]()
Hey, dunno if anyone has any more invites, but I would love to check this out. If someone could send one my way at laforge38 @ gmail.com that would be great.
Laforge - I'll get one to you this weekend.
Thanks very much Pup
Any more of those? I'd suuure like to check this out..
lol. almost a year later! I don't think people can invite anymore. At least for now. Let me know if I'm wrong, ![]()
