A tumblelog is a variation of a blog,
that favors short-form, mixed-media posts over the longer editorial
posts frequently associated with blogging. Common post formats found on
tumblelogs include links, photos, quotes, dialogues, and video. Unlike
blogs, this format is frequently used to share the author's creations,
discoveries, or experiences without providing a commentary.
A new service called Tumblr can publish your tumblelog with minimal setup and for free.
Anyone use this?
I'm thinking I could start off with this
I actually just started one (gnat for the curious). I like the idea, but I get the feeling that it will become as neglected as my other blogging attempts.
xhan is mine - its quite fun actually! I still use it! I could see it being used as a sidebar updates thing...
You know dek, if you make a tumblelog you're now obligated to post a link to it here.

*ahem*
I haven't actually started one
I haven't thought up a topic I could write about which wouldn't need researching etc, and I'm not the kind who'd wanna share random details of my life online..... I don't even share those in real life!
ie, doesn't matter what tools you provide for me, my hurdle remains the same - what to write?
Tumblr has gotten a bit of a facelift.
Tumblr is fantastic. I wasn't convinced at first, but I'm in love with it now (in fact I have two of them on the go). I use mine for sharing the interesting stuff I come across on the net...links, images, videos, quotes. And it's made so easy to do with their bookmarklet.
It's easily the best new service I'm using atm, and for me, no writing involved!
Wow!!
Your review makes me wanna go check it out..... which I will.... soon
It's great being able to change the look by coding, instead of only having choice between set templates (like Wordpress). My Tumblr is Kiwi Jake Games but it's a page coming off my Wordpress blog. I love being able to embed flash too. ...go Tumblr
I've just started using Tumblr and I like it a lot. The bookmarklet is definitely the key to using it. I use it more or less as a stream of consciousness memory tool.
I didn't much like the included templates, and I resent having to code CSS to get a simple looking blog. Why can't it be simple to have all the headings and all the text the same size!
Not that you asked, but the smartest button I've seen is the one Google supplies for Google Bookmarks: you press it once to add a bookmark, and press it again if you want to add tags or a description.
How come Tangler doesn't have a really smart button?
What would you have Tangler's smart button do?
As usual with this sort of suggestion, it depends on what sort of thing or things you want to make easy and natural on Tanglr, but you might consider a button for posting to a default group, or to a group you could chose. The button might change if something was posted to a group or a group of groups, or if you got an invitation.
Some of this would have the effect of making micro-blogging within Tangler easier, if that was the direction you wanted to go in.
I love my tumblr - http://resilient.tumblr.com
