No More War . Very powerful!
I could listen to Eddie's voice all day long.
And he's done well to make the lyrics powerful as well as smooth. Almost Dylan?
Yeah, he gives me impressions of Dylan too
Of course you cats have heard Eddie's Masters of War, right?
I hadn't till now! Thanks for pointing that out Brad!
The version with Ben Harper is good too
What other bands/artists have come out saying they don't agree with the war? I rememer the Dixie Chicks got slammed for it.
The Dixie Chicks? You're not wrong there poor things.
so what about the other EV song? Long Nights?
long nights is my favorite EV song, i love the into the wild soundtrack
Wanna talk about peace all you have to do is talk to a vet who has been forward on the line,or has what we use to call ourselves a line animal . my girl saw the peice on this documentary and she could not stop talking about it, i say that with respect because she is a former care giver and it hit her hard, so i started doing my background check on it and all i can say is this i will check it out and i too will try to get the word out, the sad thing is this has been happening for generations! when bands like The StreetDogs& DropKick Murphys are taking the chance and singing about the broken lives these conflicts have spawned it leaves me very sad to know we have been sold down the river again.doesn't any one in politics have a conscience?
So happy this documentary has been made. America needs to wake up!
Proud of my country. Ashamed of my government. Helpless, embarrassed and frustrated. Thanks for making this movie, speaking for all of us silenced by a criminal administration and gutless representatives.
....doesn't any one in politics have a conscience? ....criminal administration and gutless representatives.
Who voted for them? are they not to blame as well?
The sad fact is that these brave men and women who are fighting this war thought they were going to better their lives by serving our country. If given the choice, who would honestly spill their blood for oil? What Would bush Do? We already know the answer to that, now don't we? Until our "leaders" are willing to give of themselves and fight their own self-righteous battles, who are they to ask us to fight it for them? I support our troops, but I fear and distrust the administration that created this oil slick on history.
Has everyone forgotten..it was Billie Joe Armstrong who started the new anti-war movement almost 4 years ago......AMERICAN IDIOT
Doesn't anyone remember Bille Joe Armstrong starting anti-war movement 4 years ago - AMERICAN IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bille Joe Armstrong started this new anti-war movement 4 years ago...AMERICAN IDIOT
Phil, the perennial 72 year old hippi whiner. I though he was going to cry during the interview. War is not pretty and it is terrible people go to war but sometimes it is necessary.
I hope this movie is not another Michael Moore fiasco.
Disabled veteran from Gulf War. People say that the Iraq war has lasted for five years. For me it's been 17 years. I still have nightmares and have mucho grande head problems. Maybe if America was at peace I could be at peace with myself.
I'm surprised I didn't see Meglomaniac by Incubus on this soundtrack ![]()
For the most part the American public has been sanitized from what is going on... thank God for documentaries, PBS, and the real stories! We need to understand the gravity of responsibility we have to our military and our veterans. We desperately need mental health care to be top priority along with the physical care. What are we turning back onto our society? All these organizations are out there to help these men and women get the help they need. The rest of us need to support them in whatever way we can.
Sending ...
