I'll only watch it on DVD, so that I can have the subtitles on. Why? So that I can fast forward and speed read the subtitles and still know what is going on.

same here. but I buy DVDs of my favorite movies so I can watch later when I've some spare time to kill.

Yeah, I only have a few DVDs that I bought... I have Sholay, cos it's such a classic!

And I have that other one that Aamir Khan did... the one set in British India - can't remember the name

Am keeping my eye out for Rang De Basanti. I think it's one of the best movies ever!

Are you talkin' about Lagaan? I love the movie. I love the songs!! It was the best movie ever done by Aamir Khan.

I didn't mind Lagaan, but I think it was too looooong.... I like to forward to the last bit where they start playing the game

They keep  showing it on the foreign language channel here....

As it is they don't show much Hindi stuff, and when they do, it's always Lagaan! I'm sick of it!

But I still always watch the cricket bits

public channel... sounds similar to the Indian public channels... ex. DD1. they always broadcast saaaaame old movies.. waaa! lol

I've got only two favorite Hindi channels in my list. One is  Star Utsav and the other one is Discovery. All the other 10+ favorite channels r English. (Zstudio, HBO, Animal Planet, Star Movies, Star World, Ten Sports, CNN, BBC, etc...

I prefer Lagaan to Mangal Panday!!!

dek - I think you were referring to "Khoon Bhari Maang" that the Australian public channel used to show all the time over and over again!!!

to begin with I didn't really like that Movie of Rekha's and couldn't understand why Australian would think that it's the best movie of India to show!!

I still watch movies in fast forward - I'm so used to it that I was in agony when I went to watch "Eklavya" on the big screen. Had a free ticket from a fren so I went to watch. In the begining i was really shifting in my chair out of irritation.

thank God "Eklayva" was entertaining enough for me to forget about forwarding!!

But i cannot imagine watching Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna on the big screen without being able to fast forward!!!

i wanted to die while watching kabhi alvida...i swear when intermission came, i thought the movie ended.but NOOOO....it dragged onnn and onnnn and onnnn.....eventually went home with a super bad headache.

I haven't watched the movie as yet but the teens I work with -- they loved it!!!

They were discussing how bold the theme was and that both Rani and SRK did a great job of being real nasties that you really hate them.

It was really intriguing to hear them talk

yeah...i think those other movies have crossed certain taboo subjects already. i think the only reason why they even talk abt it cos of the big names. not worth the time and effort i think.
