I'm going to go on the 21st (last day).  I want to see the Commodore Sportwagon.  I love wagons (learned to drive in my mum's 56 Chev).

Can't wait.

Those are one of my all-time dislikes.

What's not to like?  340KW, 6sp Manual, 0-100 in 6 sec and change?  Plus haul all your clobber and it ain't a bloody SUV.  It's too big for Sydney, but would be a blast here in the land of the free.

What's not to like? The elongated butt. No car has been made that can carry it off

Sports wagons bring out the pity in me for the target market

Nothing wrong with "sport wagons" or estate cars.  Mine would put most cars costing less than £50K into a cocked hat...

Sport wagons are the perfect antidote to ugly and inefficient SUVs. On average a wagon gets 50% better fuel economy, actually can handle well (at least most) and can carry nearly the same amount of clobber.  And you spare the rest of us the visual pollution caused by big, ugly, trucks masquerading as passenger cars.

Here's my theory for the advent of the Sports wagon: Sales were hurting cos fathers refused to drive it. Wagons had the reputation of being a mum-car. Add the sports label and it makes both parties happy - mums and dads - ie  more sales

Don't think that one holds up Dek.

Blokes like to carry stuff around.  A saloon car is no good.   A pick-up means that others can help themselves to your stuff, you can't commute in a Van. An SUV gives you the label of dick-head.  Enter the estate car which was derived from the "Shooting Brake" (another blokes only car) ideal for carrying loads of stuff , in comfort and without looking like a dick-head.

The "Sport Wagon" label is was designed to appeal to the dick-heads in the SUV's and that is a bit unsettling because it means that some Sport Wagon drivers are former SUV drivers...

I'll have one of these.  Audi RS6.

The pick of the sports wagons is the AP5 ...

There's an oddball for ya:  The only P76 wagon ever built.  The force 7 2-door was kinda cool in a 70's way...

They're all hideous!
