Wal-Mart (WMT) founder Sam Walton famously drove a pickup. Warren Buffett, worth $42 billion, drove a silver 2001 Lincoln Town Car with Nebraska plates THRIFTY until he auctioned it for charity on eBay last year for $73,200. When Alan Mulally moved from Boeing to be CEO of Ford Motor (F) last year he caught flak for calling his Lexus the finest car in the world just when Ford was introducing him as its new leader. Now, he "rotates through an array" of Ford vehicles, Ford spokesman Mike Moran says.
A car can say a lot about the person in the corner office. "Of all the products in the world, cars are the most reliable representation of an individual's personality," says Golden Gate University psychology chair Kit Yarrow.
Really??
Depends it you're a poser or a showoff/braggart to some extent.
I'm not sure about that....
I like to find how how the person approaches their car first
I had a friend who (with his wife) owned 5 hotels. (his wife and son ran them).
He was interested in cars and had a new Chevy Impala and a Mercedes in his garage, but he drove around in an old green Rover with rust in the doors. He always wore patched overalls and looked a bit of a dero. He liked classical music and when he went to a concert he would put his dinner suit on and hop in his mercedes, and he looked like a millionaire.
I once asked him "when do you drive the Impala", and he said "Oh that's just for towing the caravan when we go on holidays". I once had a minor prang in my car and was without a car for a week or two. My friend said that I could borrow his Chevy Impala, when I suggested that maybe he should lend me the old Rover and he should drive the Chevy, he said "If I drive the Chevy around, people will think that I am a poser". So I drove the Chevy and everyone thought that I was the poser. One of the conditions I had to agree on before he lent me the car, was that I was not allowed to tell anyone that it was his car.
This guy was a millionaire, but looked and acted like an old pensioner who was down on his luck, but he was also one of the most generous people I have ever met.
I think generosity is one of the core traits of successful people.
Having said that, no matter what car I have, I wouldn't just let anyone drive it.... even my old jalopy![]()
You'd get over that if you had kids... ![]()
Nup!
If I had kids, they'd be the last ones to get their hands on my car
I used to say that too........![]()
Which is why the plan is to not have any![]()
Meanie..... ![]()
Never let anyone drive your car. Mr T said it best: "Touch my van and I'll feed you your socks!"
HAHAHHAAHHA I like that!
So what does Marty drive?
errrm.... I don't know!![]()
I got the impression from something he said that it was BMW but I could be way off
Ah... yes, it used to be before he moved to the States![]()
