The long battle between the two. Which is better?
I'm a Nvidia user at the moment but i'm thinking of getting an Ati X1900 XT.
NVidia are definitely in the front at the moment, but given how many times that lead has changed I wouldn't be surpised if ATI come up again soon. Unless of course the AMD move is hurting somehow. I doubt it though.
I tend to prefer ATI cards, the top-spec NVidia ones are astronomically expensive.
That may be because they're astronomically better, but looking at the highest end ATI cards like the HD 2900s, you can get 1GB of GDDR4 memory, a 750MHz GPU, and 320 pipelines for much less than NVidia's top of the range cards (and similarly priced NVidias are a lot lower specced)
It's similar to the Intel/AMD question - Intel has some chips that will perform stunningly well (3.0GHz quad core ones for example..) but cost something like £600, while for normal spec chips AMD are better value
Surprised we don't already have an Intel vs. AMD topic to go with the NVidia vs. ATI.. onesec
I found that i didn't always have to buy the latest and greatest card from either to get performance out of my games, which made it soooo much cheaper when i built my rig ages ago, but if you have to dosh go ahead and get the latest and greatest.
SLI ATI would be nice.
They call it Crossfire, but not so many motherboards support it
Seems like a lot of NVidia motherboard support.
I still can't believe the hardware prices nowadays - quad core, dual SLI machines for $1300.
Yup, prices keep coming down and performance keeps going up, it's great ![]()
Storage especially - always getting cheaper and bigger
NVida's are much cooler (not literally) than ATI's.
I noticed that in my notebook too... Nvideo was much cooler than the ATI.
nVidia!!!
Hows about the Intel GMA 950?
The Lada of Graphics displays...
I guess this is an oops for NVIDIA?
