Hmmm, very interesting deezee, but I knew that my brain was a mess before I read that very interesting article. My daughter once (years ago) calculated that I must only have about 2 neuron's left and by this time I reckon the figure would be closer to 1½....(that is of course if you are indeed allowed to have a ½ of a neuron) 
Given that it can fix itself, should you still have 2?
Theoretically I should have at least 2, but I haven't looked for a while....
As to the "Just one question", question, I believe that most of the questioners wasted their question on frivolous questions..
I would like to ask Albert Einstein and Arthur Eddington some questions about astrophysics and cosmology.....

The reason for incest being bad is to keep up genetic diversity. If a cousin is distant enough then the danger of inbreeding goes away... which is fortunate, since every other person on the planet will be some kind of cousin to every other person. Although when it gets to the point of being your 1357th cousin 42 times removed, I think it's safe to say no-one's going to be able to ever trace the relationship.

First idea, are you sure the human race has actually become better looking, or is it just that the standards/ideals for what "good looking" is has changed?
Second, it could be due to a general increase in the time we have available to worry about the way we look, not to mention the rise of the cosmetics industry.
Or it could be that mixing and recombining genetics that had diverged off into different cultures, races, populations etc really is beneficial and produces good looking humans

My sis studied this stuff, and she'd say something about the DNA of both parents being different and the merging doing some unusual stuff. I can't remember.

Lack of sleep makes me drink more water. There's this strange feeling in the mouth I try to get rid off

I don't recognise myself in there at all.
When I get to work and have my first coffee, I usually just stare blankly at the screen, still trying to wake up.
Oh wait, I do that all the time!
My morning coffe is 10 minutes of checking my emails.
By the time I get my morning coffee, I'm awake, cos it involves getting out of bed and walking.
On days like today, when I'm seriously sleep deprived, coffee doesn't help. It's like my brain's engine has started, and coffee keeps it going, but the thing that puts it into gear and steps on the accelerator is missing

I find that it's easy to wake up in the winter time, its that first butt numbing shock of a cold toilet seat that makes the eye lids snap open..
speaking as a person who has fallen asleep in the shower.........nothing happens before coffee....

besides coffee being a necessary part of my day...........it is one of my favorite beverages.
I don't mind a cup of coffee, but I rarely have more than one or two a year, and then only when someone else makes it.

Re the bad taste in the mouth first thing in the morning. I find that it is always a bloke called John Smith shitting in your mouth when asleep. The bastard usually nicks all my money and throws my clothes around the floor as well...

Your mouth dries out because you don't produce much saliva while sleeping, various little bugs proliferate more than normal, they make your mouth taste nasty and feel crappy... not a lot you do about it.
Actually, my theory is that your body dehydrates when you don't sleep enough. Some process goes wrong somewhere.
I once went for a week with no sleep a couple of nights, and 2-3 naps other nights, and no matter how much fluids I drank, I was just dehydrated. Took forever to recover from that
Well... if you produce less saliva while sleeping, wouldn't that help you to conserve your water? That and the fact that you're just lying there doing nothing, not working up a sweat with any rigorous standing up or walking around or anything like that 
But that doesn't explain the body's inability to process water?
I was just thinking that if sleep helps conserve water, too little sleep would dehydrate you... there may well be more complex things at work - all kinds of things stop working when you don't sleep properly.

I would guess that's because there's some correlation between "middle aged single" and "lonely shut-in", and hence increased risk of Alzheimer's due to decreased interaction with people.

when i was 16, i spent a summer at a boarding school in vermont.....in the middle of the woods......
....the cabin/house (it was sort of a log cabin, but it was big and really nice)......had floor to ceiling (2 stories high) windows in the living room........i used to get high and curl up in a cozy chair......smoking cigarettes and watching the smoke in the rays of sunlight streaming through the windows........it was amazing.......
i'm sure my mother....who really had to scrounge for funds to send me to this place, would be really happy to hear this........but the it is still a very strong image in my mind.........very peaceful and happy...
