You know how when you have a word stuck in your head but you just can't get it out?
I am trying to recall a quote/poem that I love, but I just can't recall it, and I can't recall where I put it, and I can't recall enough about it for any sort of search to work!!!!!!!!
![]()
It's something along the lines of ' there are faces I can never look upon.... with out thinking of you' etc
So what I'm doing now is going thru sites with 'love' quotes and searching for the word 'there'. And the love quotes are making me cranky
grrrr
ARRRRGGGHHHH!!
I can't find it!!
I've looked thru all my e-mail accounts, both my computers, all the note books I could find. I can't find that quote!
awww, poor dek.
what you need is something to take your mind off it. then, when you least expect it.....

no, that not right...that what happen if you keep trying
lets try again...

it'll just magically appear...
...and you won't remember why you wanted it.
LOL!
I'm still searching btw
Okay, I'm done for the night.![]()
Oh dear.
Poor dek...
Yes, poor me![]()
I take it you still haven't found it then?
No....
I'm hoping andro pops in and reads this. I have a feeling I might have shared it with him at some point
Actually, while we're on the topic of 'lost posts' I was looking for AAAAAAA a while back. I think it's brilliant, its a link that someone (maybe even andro, not sure) posted that directs you to a wiki-style page of AAAA AAA AAAAA AA AAAAA AAAAA everywhere...
I'm pretty sure it was in Tangle Games somewhere, but everytime I search I just can't find it anymore.
EH?
You mean the Wiki page has As all over it?
Yep.
Oh!
Any clues as to what the rest of the topic had in it?
Well... (I think) it was one of those question/answer ones, erroneous info or something
There's a few it could be in, everytime i go to search I have to go through about four different topics (and their sequel counterparts)
It was either in The Question Game, Egregiously Erroneus Information, ^ < v, and possibly Guess the next replier variations.....
(and maybe......BIG maybe, in word association..)
![]()
And if it helps I think it was posted early this year.... I remember reading it just after I moved to sydney.... jan or feb or something...possibly posted dec or nov 07 though
I think i'm being just as vague as you dek.... LOL
hahahahah
I mean, what was the gist of the convo?
Oh... I've got it!
Found in Guess the Next Replier (descriptive mode)
YAY!!
AAAAAAAA!
Exactly.
Now help me find my poem?![]()
LOL! Terrible
I don't recall the poem you are speaking of, Deezee.
The best I can come up with is this..........
I Can't Stop Thinking About You
Composição: Desconhecido
Three months since we said goodbye
We both know the reason why
It's all about what's right
That's what you said
Now you come back to fill this room
And you show
That you thought this through
Before we lose this life
There's something I should tell you
[Chorus]
Even though I try to
I can't stop thinking about you
I can't stop thinking about you
No matter how hard I try
Hard I try
Chills are creeping down my spine
Thoughts are playing on my mind
Don't care if I'm a fool
For what I said
There's no expression on your face
The silence echoes in this place
Before the last goodbye
I just wanna hear you say
Even though I try to
I can't stop thinking about you
I can't stop thinking about you
No matter how hard I try
Hard I try
Even though I try to
I can't stop thinking about you
I couldn't live a day without you
I don't wanna have to try
Have to try
Chills are creeping down my spine
Thoughts are playing on my mind
Don't care if I'm a fool
There's something I should tell you
Even though I try to
I can't stop thinking about you
I can't stop thinking about you
No matter how hard I try
Hard I try
Even though I try to
I can't stop thinking about you
I couldn't live a day without you
I don't wanna have to try
Have to try
Even though I try to
I can't stop thinking about you
I can't stop thinking about you
No matter how hard I try
Hard I try
Even though I try to
I can't stop thinking about you
I couldn't live a day without you
I don't wanna have to try
Have to try
That's not it, but thank you Andro.
Is that a song?
Yes, it's a song.
(sorry, got lost in searching again. This time I'm using Google scholar)
do we get a prize if we can find it first?
Oh my gosh, if you do, I wouldn't be able to stop myself!
It's in my brain, I know that.
I just had a flashback, I dreamt of the whole thing last night
*starts pulling hair out*
I sometimes get the inspiration for a poem from dreams, maybe just the first two lines or so, or a few rhyming words, or a tiny spark that starts the embers of the mind glowing.
Hey, there's a title for a poem..'The Embers of the Mind'. (pity mine's burn't out)
The embers of my mind
fading in this maze
if only i could find that poem
they would be amazed!

Good one Deezee![]()
heheheh
there are faces I can never look upon.... with out thinking of you' etc
Is this poem in rhyming verse, blank verse, or other?
It's more of a prose of sorts, like a paragraph pulled from somewhere
Like it says "Something something something..... There are places I cannot go, faces I cannot look upon.... without...."
Mind you, the words that I have there aren't necessarily what's in it. It's all fuzzy
Google books search is turning up nothing.
I think I should give up and go back home later and turn the house upside down
It reads like something Tennyson or someone of his time and calibre might have written
It does sound a bit like Tennyson!
I have just run it by 'Verse Perfect' without a result and 'Wiktionary, Wikipaedia, et al....nothing.
Yeah... it doesn't seem to exist!

*sigh*
Stoopid brain
*grumble grumble*
Meanwhile, I've just found this - There are moments when, whatever be the attitude of the body, the soul is on its knees. - Victor Hugo
I can relate to that...
Me too
Does anyone remember the cartoon, victor and hugo?
no.
Me neither
Victor and Hugo...Bunglers in crime?
yeah!
The little frog guys? I liked the guy with the beret.
that was a long time ago, must be 15-20 years ago?
were they frog guys?
really?
Victor and Hugo, Bunglers in Crime is an animated series made by Cosgrove Hall and screened on ITV from 1991 to 1992.
The series centres on the exploits of two bumbling French criminals - the eponymous brothers of the title. Despite referencing the French author Victor Hugo in their names, neither brother was particularly intelligent.
The plot of each episode dealt with Victor and Hugo and their English-based business "Naughtiness International" being hired by crime figures to steal something. Victor would come up with a "meticulous plan" to achieve this goal, which was routinely botched by Hugo. The episodes would traditionally end with the brothers imprisoned.
were they frog guys?
Yeah, frogs! (as in Frenchmen)
oh... yeah.. ok!
Sending ...
