Keep saying it in my head as dectangle in my head today...

Stooopid bwain... can't pronounce the name of my own forum....
*smacks it around a bit*
hahahahaha.... now I can only think of you as that...
Stoppit!
At the very least, I'd be a hexagon
No no, make that a decagon...
Sounds more Transformer-ish
What about a dodecahedron?
Sounds like you're calling me a dodo
aww.. no... its a 12-sided-shape!!![]()
what about icosahedron or tetrahedron? they sound transformers-ish too but just not dek-related![]()
rhododendron?
digmyselfintoaholehedron?
Morganahedron...
![]()
LOL!
If we were gonna make words up, why not just dektrahedron?
Hah Try defining the sides on that!![]()
HAHAHA Andro!! I love it!! I like dektrahedron
(but all the other words were real!)
digmyselfintoaholehedron?
Oh wait... that wasn't for me...
well yeah ok that one's made up... but to me it's just a "compound word" ![]()
Don't be wordist!!!
A dektrahedron Is a pentagonal hemisphrerical triangle...
is it really?
Yep...![]()
Something's telling me triangles don't have hemispheres....
Ummm....have you never heard of the truncated frustum of a hemispherical triangle? (i haven't either)
*blinks*
*blink*
Okay, whatever ya say
if its not in wikipedia then it doesn't exist....![]()
HAH!
That really isn't that much of a challenge....
Well in theory, Tangler isn't there, so does that mean we're in some sort of parallel world? (i believe so)
Shhhhhh
That's cos we're just keeping it on the down low. If Tangler got notorious, it'd get banned by enterprise firewalls...
See, dek = clever
ahhh.....true that...if that had been the case, imagine all the days I spent at the office where I wouldn't have been able to chat!
You see.....
Only lookin out for my peeps!
hehehehehhh
noice!
Polyhedron, dodecahedron, large hedron collider...
The LHC did come to mind when I was reading those words, but I couldn't work dek into it any way...
![]()
holy crap!
a whole page of gibberish.....makes my eyes go funny trying to read the long words...
so, almighty dek-a-tron....this dectangle you're on about...is that like a knot with no loose ends so you can't unravel it?
hmmmm....
It'd pretty much be a mess of loose ends I'm guessing. No knots, just a heap of something![]()
All knots can be unraveled! Like those brain puzzles... I wanna do one now![]()
*hands you her brain*
eeewwwww..... it's slimy!!!![]()
What did you expect??
Like I'm gonna make it easy for ya!
It's all a bundle of mush! Gimme an easier brain to piece together! ![]()
It's all I got....
Try Wolvie's mebbe
If you fuse the ends of the rope together after tying a knot you wouldn't be able to undo it... well, not always.
I have seen stuff about what is essentially knot-science and/or knot-maths. All about reducing knots to a simpler form by transforming them around to try and undo them as much as possible (all without the rope moving through itself of course)
From that perspective, most of the knots we tie in the real world are equivalent to a normal piece of rope, since the ends are free to undo it out to straight, but if the rope is a continuous circle then it might reduce to a circle, or to a circle with a knot in it.
I forget why this stuff was useful, but some complicated knot-based formula about whether it'll untie, or what it'll untie to, turned out to have potential use in high level physics. Possibly string theory, although that seems too punny to be right.
Potentially, yesh....
But in real world terms, knots don't mess with me cos they know I've never come across one I haven't been able to untangle
WAHAHAHAHA!
Some of the knots designed many hundreds of years ago by mariners are brilliant. Virtually all of them designed to hold or splice some sort of object to prevent it moving or to move it and impossible to undo while in place - unless you know the right place or angle to give it a twist, poke or a tug. And who says that sailors are a bunch of idiot homosexuals...
I dunno... who says that?
not sure i want to be around while they're poking and tugging stuff....
LOL!
@SK yeah you're right - I didn't think about tying a knot in a rope and then fusing it together - I was sorta thinking about getting a circle of rope, then tying it up...
In that case, you could probably undo it fairly easy, but yeah I was just picking on dek and her knot-failing abilities...
![]()
MY knot-failing abilities?!?!
grrrrrr
Would you like a chance to prove yourself?
Here:
LOL!!
(have to add that a google image search for 'tangled mess' brings up quite interesting results)
I really could get thru that.
I love untangling things
hehehe Yeah!
Looks like I like looking at tangled mess images
Me too
I like this one:
