It's been around a while now in the UK.  One of these internet companies who specialise in comparing insurance company quotes.  Quite an amusing site...

Never thought to look to see if there actually was a website for it.

If they hadn't at least registered the domain, someone would have squatted on it to get some advertising money from curious people. They could just have redirected it to comparethemarket, but that would have made a lie out of their "comparethemeerkat is a totally different thing from comparethemarket" angle.

So making something for comparethemeerkat was pretty logical... what was unexpected but good was that what they made was so amusing.

Even the adverts are spot on.  Apparently a couple of guys in the IT department came up with the idea.

The message tone has somehow found its way onto my phone.

I was getting some groceries this afternoon and the young lad who served me managed to fit them into a box that I thought was rather small.  He smiled, passed the box over to me and said "Simples" then squeaked...

Maybe he thought you were a bit simple...

Perhaps.  I suppose if he did he might have had a point.  What on earth is a bloke, especially one who has a wife, doing at a grocery shop on a Saturday afternoon..

I'm guessing senility/poor eyesight/getting out of the rain/your wife told you to.

Well that's proved something to me.  All you young lads have no respect for us who have "experience of life".  Also, you young people, (especially you) can't be all that sharp of mind if it took some knackered old shit like me to find you a web-site worthy of downloading a message tone...

I'm hoping to annoy lots of people with it....and if anyone complains I shall point them in your direction and blame you.
