I want to see what news hit in line with Alexa stats.
So you have a graph of stats for a URL over the last 7 days and any major news articles about that URL.
i.e. The graph shows reach of tangler.com and below it it shows some blog entries (maybe going vertical)probably high authority combined with some news stories (nothing for Tangler yet...). Do you get what I'm after? So you can see "Wow, we got a big spike with that article by Buzz Shout!".
One thing you'd really need for this is a way to get alexa ranking data for a particular day. Anyway to do that?
The only way I can think of getting that kind of info would be by daily extraction. I'm working on it through Feed43, but Alexa's smart enough to obfuscate their HTML so they can sell their API service (greedy jerks)
Alright, I think I've got a (sort of) working RSS feed for Alexa stats
No idea if it works for more than one day, but it works today![]()
Oh, and that's tracking daily reach per million
that's cool!
i wonder how we could get historical by day
How do I get that to work?
It's an RSS feed. Not useful for much alone, but, I'm thinking that could be fed into a script to generate a graph. The other sets of data (google, technorati, etc.) could be added through RSS on a dynamic page.
@Marty: Hopefully, if the feed works right, it will update day-by-day, and allow for stat collection. If stored in a database, the data could be stored near-infinitely
Hmm... tha's just two graphs along the same timeline
Maybe we should have looked her first;
Here's a messy page with some info stuff plugged in about Tangler;
Thing is, for the dev area, all of those, barring the "best of" rss feeds, cost money
I know I pretty late entering this conversation but have you guys tried Compete
Using the links Mick provided in the beginning I got this
