ANNABELLE'S AT IT AGAIN!
Our own Annabelle Barrat is in Torquay this week and will be competing in the 2008/2009 RIP CURL GROMSEARCH DATES
Vic Jan Juc Sept 23-26, 2008. We all wish you the best of luck Annabelle!!!!!!!!!!! and we expect you to EXTERMINATE THE COMPETITION!!!

UPDATE: October contest moved to probably 25/10/08.
There will be no contest this Saturday: 11/10/08 as a mark of respect and courtesy to honour the memory of Di Steell, devoted wife of our own Col Steell and much loved mum of Brett and Glen.
Di sadly left us around 3pm Tuesday 7th October 2008, after a prolonged and painful battle with cancer .
Dee Why Surfing Fraternity members and friends offer their heartfelt condolences to the family. More information will follow shortly but it seems there will be a group memorial probably next Tuesday,16/10/08 at St Faiths Church , Clarke St Narrabeen for the many who will wish to pay their respects and remember a fine lady, mum, wife and friend.
There will be a paddle-out and wreath laying ceremony in memory of Di Steell next Sunday, October 26th at 12 noon
Friends and family will be gathering a little before to paddle out and all welcome to join us afterwards - there should be a barbecue if the weather's o.k. - look for the DYSF Trailer or Tent behind the beach carpark.
We hope to see as many of you there as possible to honour Di's passing.

Boardfest 2008 22/11/08
Manly Daily, November 12th, 2008:
Once again, DYSF in conjunction with Powerlinez Surf Shops is running a "Boardfest" competition for young surfers ( Boys & Girls) up to 18 years of age on Saturday November 22nd, 2008. A great chance for the youngsters to get a taste of real competition in the same format as their heroes in the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) . As well as a great day of surfing , there'll be a barbecue and Raffles etc to help raise awareness of and funds for Bear Cottage at Manly. Don't miss it!
