(Yes, this will do... I don't have enuf to say to justify a new group :P)
Rossi's brought down the difference to Hayden to 12 points...
Think he'll be able to win the championship again?
Anything is possible in Moto-GP where Rossi is concerned. (maybe)
Btw. the Japanese Moto-GP is on at 12-15am monday, on Ch 10. (Thats right in just over 1½ hrs time. AEST
(have to set the VCR)
I think it's fine to discuss Moto GP on an F1 thread. (but that's only my opinion)
(*thread/group* whatever)
Dude, the Jap moto GP has already ended... hasn't it?
*scratching head*
What did I tape this afternoon??
Hey, I guess you taped the Jap Moto GP on Ch10 which was on at 4-00pm. I was at sons place watching the cricket on Foxtel at the time, and didn't realise that the M...GP was on tillI got home and looked at the TV guide, (saw what was obviously a repeat) then decided to post the news and generally embarass myself.......*crawls away with tail between legs* :-(
*embarrass* (oops)
Nah..... not your fault at all
bloody channel 10
I was feeling slighty embarrased when I realised they were showing at night!!
oops!
hahahahahah
Ok, we can forgive each other then?
hehehehhe Why of course! hahahah
For a whileI thought that Rossi might do it, but Capirossi was too good for him.
Hayden came a dissapointing 5th, but Melandri went well enough to make it an Italian 1,2,3.
Hayden has had a disappointing last 2 races..... which is why I think Rossi will run away with it!
Would it be great if it came down to the last race, and theyrace each other to the finish? Haven't seen that for sometime..... hopefulyl it'll be the same in F1! hahahaha
I mean'Wouldn't'
ugh!
It'd be too hard on the nerves, I'd need a strong drink to sustain me. lol
heheheheh
For once I don't wanna see a 'runaway victor' situation
Like last year, when the Constructor's was decided at the last race
Well the whole show could still go right down to the wire. (Constructors and drivers)
Yeah... But I'm suspicious about the condition of Alonso's Renault tho... hasn't performed well since they took the dampers off has it?
I dreamt last night that Kimi crashed out of the upcoming race btw.....
So hope that does not happen... AGAIN!
No, Alonzo hasn't gone well since the dampers were declared illegal.
Oh yeah..... I keep forgetting that next year we'll be on the same side of the fence!! That'll take some getting used to...
sniff sniff... I'm not ready to say goodbye to McLaren yet!
Alonzo could be your new hero? hahahahahahahaha
You laughing at me?!?!?!!?
hehehehehe
Well, as you probably know, I don't mind Alonso... So yeah, I'll probably still support him.
but still,
KIMI FOR CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
hahahahhahaha
You laughing at me?!?!?!!?
Who me?.......................nevah...........hahahahaha
I can cop Kimi no worries, but that Alonzo $#%&#$%.
(Still I suppose he's better than the 'poisoned dwarf)
kekekeke.
Which one is the poisoned dwarf again? JV?
I'm seeing a trend here andromeda.... anyone against Schumi you don't like?
:P
Yes the poisoned dwarf is JV. (who else) (He speaks with a poisoned tongue, and is a dwarf, (kind of) :-)
No, dekrazee1, Only a few I don't like. mainly the ones that mouth off a lot, such as JV, Kiki Rosberg and their ilk, and the ones that tell lies in an attempt to make thenselves look good. (The whiners and whingers).
Schumi has his faults, but one thing I like about him is that when he loses he just says "well so and so happened, but there is still time to win, and theres always a next time". (He never blames someone else).
That's true, andro (can I call u that?), I do admire that about Schumi.
At the same time I don't like that he doesn't take responsibility - when he hits someone for example. Still, it is that 'ruthlessness' that has a part to play in his successes
Sure you can call me 'andro', (been called worse things than that) and maybe I could call you 'deze'? (or would you prefer something else)?
Well Schumi is the most successful driver in F1 history, and I guess he suffers a lot from tall poppy syndrome, and at times he has to be ruthless to succeed. I suppose it is the tutonic streak in him that comes out at times. (like an "All care taken but no responsibility" attitude). Or if you like "If you cant stand the heat stay out of the kitchen".
Anyway his career as an F1 driver is drawing to a close, so I wonder who all the Michael haters will vent their spleen on next year.
The guys (and gals) from the Scuderia Ferrari forum will be devastated when he goes.
(deze, or deezee (;P) is fine!) hehehe
Somehow all the 'controvesy makers' are leaving at the same time eh? I didn't realise it until you brought up who the 'haters will vent their spleen on'!
JPM, JV, Schumi - I think their departure leaves a gaping hole in the 'personality' area... Oh wait, Button is still there! hahahaha
Also, seeing how madly loyal Ferrari fans are, I think they'll warm up to Kimi in no time... But he'd better perform in that role. His level of responsilbility has just gone up 100 fold!
Ok, deezee it is then, just wanted to be sure as we had not been formally introduced yet!.hahaha.
You never hear a bad word about Kimi on the Scuderia net, cant say the same for JPM and JV though, Alonzo cops a bit but their favourite has always been the poisoned dwarf. :-)
I think Alonzo will try to throw his weight around next year, he always appears to me to be an angry man. (Don't see many pics of him laughing or fooling around).
But we will have to wait and see.
Hmmm.... I've always thought that Alonso was a nice guy.... just from reading his face tho
Yeah well I spose he is more handsome than Schumi, but I am really no judge of what makes a good looking man, I have tended to concentrate on good looking women.lol and hahaha.
Any way have a look at Schumi's Sekret diary.
Michael Schumacher is not reading the newspapers ahead of his return to the circuit where he made a complete **** of himself last year.
Many greets tifosi chums. So now you know what is going to happen. Yes, I will no longer be driving for the Scuderia in 2007 or entertaining you my beloved cap wearers, horn blowers and forum posters.
Three more races to go, my eighth World Championship to collect and a new job at Ferrari to bark upon. It is going to get very exciting, oh yes.
I have received many nice messages of support from a lot of people who are all rooting for me, and who say they will be behind me every step of my last three grand prix. And that is just the FIA World Council.
Niki Lauda is being very supporting also. Ever since he had the diggings at me about Monaco he has realised that his contract with German TV is likely to be gone and so he wastes no opportunity to climb inside my bottom. Yes, Schumi will win, yes, Schumi will go out on a high, no Kimi won't be able to motivate the Ferrari team like Schumi.
He is right, of course, but he is only saying it to get some brown points.
I have not told anyone the true reason why I am leaving F1, and I will only reveal it to you, my gang of tifosis, after the season is over. The reason I gave to the media - that I believe Felipe Massa is ready to take on an important role in the team - is obviously not true.
Felipe Massa is the kind of boy you wanted to stick down the toilets at school who only gets brave when he is surrounded by a bunch of heavy mates and has no sense of humour. Little shortass squirt syndrome. He has already tried to claim my side of the motorhome before Kimi gets here. His girlfriend has the brains of a small cricket. (even though she is equipped with a beautiful pair of gazongas) and she is still a greater intellectual.
When he and Kimi get together for debriefings in the Ferrari motorhome there will be more brainpower in the TV remote control than the two drivers. It saddens me to know that my legacy will be left to them, but I certainly didn't ask Jean to go and hire a poledancing drunk who can barely be understood when he's sober.
People have asked me what I think of Fernando Alonso's comments about me. I don't. There are certain things I choose not to get involved with. Responsing to criticism, politics, beach volleyball, Martin Brundle and giving sensible answers to Ted Kravitz that have more than five words in.
Life is too short. The dog barks but the caravan moves on. Or something like that.
I heard that Juan-Pablo is about to start testing his NASCAR car. Hopefully, by now he has put on enough weight to become a NASCAR driver. I hear the minimum is 100kg and you are not allowed to hold a triple cheeseburger with jumbo fries while you are on the scales to make the weight up.
Perhaps I can give him a big surprise and join him in NASCAR. That would be nice for him. We could have a Ferrari NASCAR team. All we have to do is throw away about 30 years of engineering research and we will be ready.
No, of course I am kidding. It would only be about 20 or 25.
I have a big challenge ahead in China. Last year it was not so good to hit the Minardi on the way to the grid. I had been given superstar billing in China as the almighty Schumster and then quite honestly and obviously it was rubbish to have a crash while pratting around playing with my steering wheel. Even David Coulthard losing control of his Williams in the pitlane wasn't as stupid as that.
So I must make amends. You will find that The Schum will perform at The Shang.
The Schum
Ahem.... the only goodlooking driver in F1 is Webber
I have received many nice messages of support from a lot of people who are all rooting for me, and who say they will be behind me every step of my last three grand prix. And that is just the FIA World Council.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
but I certainly didn't ask Jean to go and hire a poledancing drunk who can barely be understood when he's sober.
Hey! Still, it's funny! hehehehe
Even David Coulthard losing control of his Williams in the pitlane wasn't as stupid as that.
Dc in Williams? When?
You will find that The Schum will perform at The Shang.
Imagine him saying it and it become 100 times funnier! hahahaha
You're probably right deezee. (after all he is an Aussie) lol.
hahahahah I used to think Button was good looking, but then he opened his mouth
Hey, the pairing of DC and Webby means that Red Bull can at least claim one title - Best looking team! hahahahah
I meant Mark Webber is an Aussie, (we both posted similtaneously) and together at the same time .
And yes, Webby and DC both have strong jaw lines.
Actually, most of them do.... my theory is that it is a by-product of having to shove their heads into helmets their whole lives...
then again, the chinese/indian art of face-reading thingy would say it's cos they're very determined ppl...
I thought you were a fan of Kimi's looks? (or is Kimi finnished.)
HAHAHAHAHAHA
The first thing that made me notice Kimi was his driving (honest!!). I suppose it's a bonus that he's presentable!
Oh I know.
hahahahaha
hehehe
The gods of racing must be in a real mischievous mood this year...
After last week's Schumi engine failure shock, Moto GP goes a step further!!
Ok, before the race, Hayden led Rossi by 3 points (I think).... 4 laps into the race, Rossi is leading, Hayden is 4th.... if things ended like this Hayden would be 3 ahead of Rossi for the last race...
Lap 5, Pedrosa pull a move on Hayden, loses it, and takes em both out!!!! HAHAHAHAHA No one could believe it! Taken out by his own teammate!
Crazy stuff.... Hayden basically lost it and knelt there hitting the gravel with his fists like a child in a sandbox whose toy has been taken away. :P
Anyways, end of it all, Rossi came in 2nd (0.002s behind Elias --> more crazy stuff) and now Rossi leads the championship by 8 points...
Fortunately for hayden, it isn't the real end of the line (as it might be for Schumi) but still....
Naughty gods!
Well hayden was indeed unlucky, however Rossi (by coming second) has gone to the lead (as you said) by 8 points).
Interestingly enough, Melandri and Vermulen, were only able to manage 8th,and 9th, respectively.
yeah... but hasn't Melandri been out of it for some races now? (I'm not sure)
Spanish Moto GP from Valencia starting in a few minutes.
Was an ok race... too bad for Rossi, but he didn't have the pace anyways
Well after he fell off it became mission impossible.
Well (our Aussie).Troy Bayless did well to win the race, and Capriossi wasn't far behind, however (theres always a however) Hayden did enought to secure the World C/ship.Title.
I think that was the coolest bit of the day! To ride in one race and win it!!
Rossi did really well to fight back through the whole year... I hope he has a better year next year. I want him to win again! (Don't really like Hayden, and my real favourite Gibernau will probably never challenge for the title anymore...)
Actually, it got me thinking, and maybe you know the answer to this andro. In F1 and MotoGP, do they get anything for winning the titles? I've never seen a Driver's/Rider's/Constructor's trophy. It is literally just a title they fight for?
do they get anything for winning the titles? I've never seen a Driver's/Rider's/Constructor's trophy.
I honestly don't know the answer to that one $deezee$, it's not something I've given any thought to. Possibly though, it's just for the honour and glory that it gives them. (plus of course increasing their value in any future contract discussions).
yeah, good point
I watched the first Moto GP of 2007 last night.
Casey Stoner of Australia , narrowly won over Valentino Rossi.
Me too me too!!! Stumbled upon it by chance.... (since when is MotoGP on Sat??)
T'was a good race... tho I am surprised by the lack of speed in Rossi's Yamaha
Nice to see Stoner do well too.
Was glad Hayden wasn't among the front runners...
Yeah, I was also glad to see Hayden miss out.
Don't know about the Sat Moto GP either, I also stumbled on it by chance.
I was looking at a site relating to the Qatar MotoGP a while ago, and they mentioned that the Arabic weekend was Fri-Sat, so that may have been the reason for it. (but that's only a guess).
Actually, that makes a lot of sense.... except I thought Fri was a holy day, so thay wouldn't hold the event on that day.....
Heard the Aust anthem being played on tv..... went to check - yep, stoner won!![]()
Yep, I watched it. Stoner rode a great race, with Rossi Trying to pass all the time.
Moto GP is coming good
Yeah, it's getting very interesting, I will have to watch more of it.
Me too me too!!
I've always enjoyed Moto GP, but I tend to miss watching a lot of it, by nor realising it is on.
Yeah, same here....
it's easy to fall out of the loop
No comments on the mighty MotoGP racing since June!? Criminal.
Interesting watching Casey Stoner crack under the pressure from Rossi for the second race in a row. Again, over a second quicker than Rossi in qualifying, but unable to ride away from him in the race.
Oh yes!! I meant to comment on that, but F1 sadness over took my thoughts
Go Rossi!!![]()
Ahem.....Stoner was riding away from Rossi, when his tyres let him down and he crashed....![]()
He lost.... that's that....
![]()
It was rigged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
Are you saying Stoner dived (to use football terminology)?![]()
No, Stoner's front tyre was sabotaged........![]()
Stoner had a 1.3 second lead on the previous lap (a lead that had only increased by 0.1 seconds from the start of the race). At the point he crashed that lead was down to 1 second. Stoner went into the corner too hot. That's rider error not a tyre failure. If Stoner had been able to carry over his qualifying advantage into the race he would've been 6 seconds up and not pushing so hard at the point he crashed. Having said all that if your definition of 'riding away' is losing 0.3 seconds in a lap then ignore my comments. ![]()
Ok...
Interesting watching Casey Stoner crack under the pressure from Rossi for the third race in a row. Again, half a second quicker than Rossi in qualifying, but unable to ride away from him in the race. ![]()
Well. he was riding away... until he could ride no longer...![]()
At that stage it didn't look like Rossi would catch him
Absolutely correct, Deezee.
Stoner was way out in front when his tyres let him down. (AGAIN)![]()
![]()
Well.... it seems that he had the same problem in warm up, and they thought it'd be fine when the temps went up... so it was kind of a team mistake?
It was sabotage...![]()
![]()
LOL!
GOooooo Rossi!
Do you watch a different race to me? On the two laps before Stoner made yet another mistake Rossi set fastest lap. How is that 'Stoner riding away'? Stoner pulled out a 3 second gap , but as soon as Rossi passed Pedrosa it grew no bigger, and as stated, Rossi banged in two fastest laps consecutively. He'll have to change his name to Casey Gravel at this rate.
HAHAHAHAH Casey Gravel!
Too funny!
Or maybe 'Stoner' is apt?
Or maybe Taki was 'STONED' when he watched it..![]()
I'm watching last nights MotoGP now... goodness... they're riding in hurricane conditions! Well, sort of
Ahhh... they red flagged it and Rossi wins!
I didn't watch it, but I heard that Rossi won it and Stoner only came third. (or was it fourth)?
Yeah and Rossi whould have organised those winds..![]()
Stoner was 5th if I remember correctly
4 on the spin for Rossi (and Agostini's record broken). I guess when Stoner rides slow enough to stay on his bike he can't keep up with the Doctor. ![]()
LOL! Terrible...
Hmmh....![]()
... and it's all over. Rossi notches up 5 in a row to win the title
.Looks like Sete Gibernau could be back (on a satellite Ducati) for 2009.
Yeah, Rossi got lucky..![]()
C'mon, Rossi's not lucky, he's the GOAT!!!! Casey Moaner might be back on top form next season. He might even challenge for the title again... as long as his bike is quicker than Rossi's, that is.
Loved Casey's comment after the race 'I let Valentino past'... if only Rossi were good enough to overtake him Casey wouldn't have to do him such favours. ![]()
WOO HOO!!!!
He da man!!!
Anyone want to guess how far ahead of Stoner Rossi will finish this weekend? I'll say 6 seconds. ![]()
hahaha
Hmmm... I'll say it'll be neck and neck![]()
Well Rossi crashed and could only manage 12th place in quali, while Stoner has pole![]()
In light of the slight hiccup in qualifying I'd like to change my estimate to 5.758 seconds.
At least......![]()
Well Taki, you were reasonably close with your winning margins, except that you got the 1st and 2nd places arse about face and stoner won by 6.5 secs....![]()
*groan*
Tell me I didn't miss the race?!
Oh wait... I did
grrrr
hehehehehe, you sure did..
Damn jet lag and lost days!
Awww... Stoner starts from pole, Rossi from 12th and King Casey 'wins' by 6 seconds. Damn that boy is fast...
.
Stoner should give James Toseland a big kiss for holding Rossi up.
Yes Taki, and Stoner was lying when he said that he was taking it easy in the final stages, to conserve fuel and avoid any stuff-ups..
\
![]()
MotoGp bikes have a system that automatically conserves fuel (by limiting power) if and when the bike begins to run low. Avoiding falling off I can believe though. ![]()
MotoGp bikes have a system that automatically conserves fuel (by limiting power)
Yes, and that's what was happening to Stoners bike. He said that he was worried about running out of fuel. It's not the first time that it has happened!
The system will not allow the bike to run out of fuel before the end of the race. There is no need what-so-ever to take it easy... unless you're wanting to feel a little better about only beating a bloke who started 11 places behind by only half a dozen seconds.
Casey's all about excuses in the last couple of months.
Winners are grinners..![]()
Losers can please themselves..![]()
It's a very old saying, you must have heard of it...![]()
Are you telling me that Stoner is making excuses for winning at Phillip Island, Taki?![]()
It's one excuse after another! First he has a hissy fit and refuses to shake Rossi's hand after Laguna Seca. Then he falls off because the tyres on his bike just let go... er, twice. A couple of weeks ago he 'let Rossi past' (it didn't half look like an overtake to me). Then (shock horror) his wrist injury from 2003 has been causing him terrible trouble and he might not finish the season. Now he 'only' won by six seconds because he was taking it easy.
Winner are grinners...
Winner are grinners...
Indeed they are..
Rossi finishes p12 in Rally GB. He's been talking about rallying full time when he finally gives up the motorbikes.
I'm still waiting for him to turn up in F1![]()
I think the only Moto GP rider to succesfully make the transition to F1 was John Surtees, who won the WDC in 1964. (driving a Ferrari 158).
Ferrari also won thw WCC that year, if my memory serves me correctly..
Sending ...
