    They agreed on it???

Damn! I didn't think the teams would agree to it

That blows.... It goes against the very essence of the sport!

    2007-10-26 22:02:50.0

i guess we should be thankful that we were able to witness the glory days of F1... including the 7 world titles for one driver... in years to come we can reminisce about the good old days.

    2007-12-09 21:02:22.0

    Yeah man....

Can you imagine, kids of today won't know all the development they used to do when they start following F1??!:O

    2007-12-09 21:03:40.0

    10 years is just insane

    2007-12-09 21:03:48.0

    It's a sad day for F1. Cry

    2007-12-09 21:53:47.0

    That's stupid...

I think the reason the teams agreed is obviously due to money. It is extremely expensive and time-consuming to develope an engine and to test it. Once engine development is removed, the costs of running an F1 team drop dramatically. I'm guessing a large part of the budget goes into the engine, and having that spare money is a large appeal to teams.

Yeah, but to completely suspend R&D for 10 years is suicide in my opinion.

F1 may be the best form of motor racing at the moment, but it is not the only one.

It's like giving Indy and Champ a free kick.

    2007-12-10 01:41:43.0

Exactly.... at this rate, even A1 GP will surpass em...

10 years is just too long.... 2 or 3 years I could accept

    2007-12-10 01:47:51.0

yeah, at 10 years Formula 1 cars will be rather slow compared to the rest. Sure, aerodynamics is a big factor. But if I have a 10hp, perfect aerodynamics won't make me go 200km/h.

    2007-12-17 00:51:54.0

    hahahahaha

Well, in their defense, they do have more than 10 hp:P

What does this mean for the smaller teams that are already slower?

    2007-12-17 02:52:25.0

It probably means that they stay slower.

It doesn't really encourage any new engine manufacturers who may be considering entering into F1.

    2007-12-17 20:06:09.0

Far out.... and thus they keep the gap between the top and rest of the field

    2007-12-17 20:07:20.0

It's stupid, 10 years is faaaaar to much.

    2007-12-18 02:51:46.0

So, we've determined that the FIA has its head up its... well.... Sealed

Think they'll listen to us if we start a petition going?

    2007-12-18 02:58:20.0

I doubt it. F1 is a business after all, not a popularity competition.

    2007-12-18 03:02:02.0

But it's bad business if they bore us to death

    2007-12-18 03:02:38.0

Yet we still watch. It's about making us come back... and this season's races were mostly boring.

    2007-12-18 03:04:17.0

Not really.... It was pretty exciting I thought.... there was competition

    2007-12-18 03:09:06.0

Yeah, true. But the races themselves tend to be boring at the halfway mark, when nothing happens.

    2007-12-20 05:24:53.0

Yeah, true. A lot of them ended as they had started

    2007-12-20 05:25:24.0

I have just established that we both agree that the other has pointed out we were wrong.XP

    2007-12-20 05:28:20.0

Oh right, that didn't make any sense

    2007-12-20 05:28:37.0

    HAHAHAHAH

    Well, yes and no...

    2007-12-20 05:28:42.0

Finally, I can actually say that the "Realtime" part of Tangler is real.

    2007-12-20 05:29:24.0

?? Has it not been realtime all this while?

    2007-12-20 05:30:34.0

it has, I just haven't had a realtime conversation with itXP

    2007-12-20 11:20:56.0

    HAHAHAHHA

Darn!  I just can't believe that!
