A clip from the Shanghai GP... Ahhhhh! what music...
wow they don't seem to move that fast on tv :P
Nothing beats the sound of a F1 engine at 19,000 RPM, does it???
Nothing comes close!
wow they don't seem to move that fast on tv :P
Yeah! That's what struck me abt this clip too!
A random racing video... can't make out what car it is. But still, a great clip
that is awesome!
I thought so too! :)
McLaren v Ferrari. Looks like some sort of season review
Wow, that was a blast from the past, (and the not so distant past as well).
I don't know how long ago some of the shots were taken, bur there seem to be a lot from the late 90's, and early 20's. See early on the clip of Mika Hakkinen winning. That would be in either 98 or 99, and the shots of Damon Hill in the (yellow submarine) Renault 1996. That brought back memories (makes me feel old) hahaha.
Thanks for that, I will watch it a few more times.
hehehe no worries...
I enjoyed watching footage of F1 'before my time' :P
Oh, and I've figured out that the white car in the racing video is an Audi R8
yo big up Damon Hill. I used to run the semi-official Damon Hill website at http://www.geocities.com/motorcity/6868/
Wow! Ever met him?
no, sadly not. although I emailed him though
I met Jenson Button earlier this year, or was it last year now... can't remember
may in fact... http://www.flickr.com/photos/dotben/sets/336159/
hahaha Cool!
(you can hyperlink using the fourth button from right)
arhhh thanks. Mind you, it should auto detect links
I'll let Marty know. My company is helping him product develop this - so I thought I'd give it a go!!! :)
hehehe Tell that to the Tangler ppl! :P
I will :{P
We are watching!
:-)
that one is definitely on the list.
yo mick - you need to get auto link in here dude
and like I was chatting to Marty about avoiding page redraws that mess up embedded flash in the chat
using AJAX to inject into the DOM rather than redraw the page
yeah, tell me about it. I just landed back in Australia and I'm a bit out of it.
really? Dude, you never said goodbye!!!
I thought you were still in town... me sad now!
yep, thats another basic. can you and/or Chris do a full review of tangler as it is now?
sorry man, I was planning too, but Saturday night got out of hand and wiped out sunday.
I'll be back soon.
well, I'm not actually on your account. So it prob won't be me unless something is worked out on that front. But Chris can look at it I guess
I hear MA was chugging beer down your throat whilst you was topless
dotben: what's that he was driving? He's a Honda man, so I'm guessing a CRV? Doesn't look like it tho :s
it was Honda NSX I think
D'oh... that's what I meant... silly Honda and their genius idea to name their cars with 3 alphabets
also have you seen this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbBGmD8A9mQ
I filmed that at the London Motorshow
I'm a Jenson Button fan
Cool!
I'll get back to you when it's loaded and I've seen it
hahahah yeah, I figured that bit out!
I used to be, then I got sick of him... oops
also check out http://www.flickr.com/photos/dotben/tags/suspendedf1car/
I'm off now, but I will later! :)
ok laters dude
Bye!
dotBen: Fwwwaahhh!! That display of the Honda is waaaay cool!!
It's brilliant! Always wanted to see all the components of an F1 car and how they all fit together.
Thanks for that! :)
did you see the flickr pics - they're much more hi res
ah... I'm on my way there now...
I was attempting to watch the video frame by frame! oops
yeah be sure to click on the 'all sizes' option
oh ok
THanks
Wow... the suspension looks more 'frail' than I thought
yeah,
apparnetly they put up each part individually each time the exhibition is erected!
I also got to change the tyres on a real Ferrari F1 car at the Motorshow
Goodness...
I'm jealous!
How heavy are they?
hmmm
about what you'd expect. My wife also did one and she was able to lift them off ok
the odd thing is getting the hub onto the axle because you then have to push it in about 3 inches to then get the amount of space to put the nut on
yeah... I somehow always expected that
Oops, that worked well, didn't it????????????????????(velly sollee)
Try again?
Nah, what I was trying to do was idiotic, I realised that, just as I pressed the send button. ( my mind was elsewhere and I was trying to do the impossible)..... (hence the apology).....
hahahha, this is the signature of one of the guys on TheScuderia forum.....
After the Belgian GP 1998....
Coulthard had slowed on the racing line, during severe rain and poor visibility conditions, resulting in Schumacher impacting heavily with his car ripping a wheel and suspension off. Once back at the pits Schumacher ran to the McLaren garage and confronted Coulthard... Are u f****** trying to kill me ? ?
Every time I see that I smile, because I can just picture him doing it. hahaha.
Ok, so maybe I have a strange sense of humour!!!!!!!!!!!????????????hahaha.
HAHAHAHAHA That is funny!!! (I was picturing it too!)
Mansell v Senna '86
We just don't have enough of this nowadays :(
awesome stuff... i just really hope the FIA does not approve that silly wing for 08 in the name of more passing :(
Don'thave enough of this either...
hehehehe Those two are cute
Which wing? The split one?
yup that hideous thing:
Yeah.... that just looks sooooo bad
Thing is, I think that it is not the fault of the cars... I mean, they've already slowed em down from last year, and yet there was a lack of passing. Not that passing is the be all and end all. I'd rather see more head to heads like Senna n Mansell above than just passing. But still, I do think that the problem is with the tracks instead.
I loved your two clips $deezee$, and yes I have to agree that the passing situation is all to do with the tracks. If you listen to the teams and drivers, you hear them saying time after time that, "such and such a track is imposible (or extremely difficult) to pass on. I would say that Bernie and his boys have put that aspect of racing in the too hard basket, and prefer instead to tinker with the cars at the expense of really fixing what has become a real problem for the fans and supporters of F1.
*sigh* bureaucracy strikes again
An entirely pointless exercise, but amusing nonetheless
Senna vs Prost - worth watching just for the commentary!
I liked that fifthgear f1 versus m5 better
Loved watching a v10 500 bhp supercar made to look like its standing still.
the 5th gear f1 vs superbike was awesome too...
oops, try again:
and the other one
Two great clips!!
Really enjoyed the second one!
I liked that fifthgear f1 versus m5 better
You mean this one?
I got sooo jealous watching it... ![]()
