It will be happening next Sunday 22nd June 2008.
The race will start at 2.00pm (French time), which equals 10.00pm AEST. (for those on the eastern seaboard of Australia)
I am led to believe that Ch10 (FTA-TV) will be telecasting the game at 11.15pm on Sunday night.
So all you F1 fans, start getting yourself into race mode....
Some thoughts from Kimi.....
"Now we're heading back to Europe to tracks, which have been built to be used by racing cars. I think that things will look really different at Magny-Cours, compared to the last GPs. The smooth surface of the French track, its demanding corners and the quick changes of direction will underline the characteristics of the F2008.It was here in France last year that my season practically started all over again; and this is what I need now, after the two races with no points.
I like this track and I think that it's perfect for our car. I think we'll be competitive and that we can go for the maximum result.
I hope you're right, Kimi.....
Wheeeeeee!! I can't wait!
So he's essentially saying the tracks outside Europe aren't built for racing?
ooooooo
Wonder how Bernie and Herman Tilker take to that statement
Well to some extent he is correct, for instance most of the purpose built F1 tracks are in Europe.
I'll prob post some pics of Magny-Cours tomorrow, if I have time and if I can find some.![]()
But that also implies that the tracks outside Europe weren't built for racing, which is bs
I think Kimi is referring to some of the street circuits generally and was maybe having a little dig at the condition of the Montreal track. (but I don't really know)![]()
Yeah, maybe
In view of Hamilton's apparent inability to detect traffic lights at Montreal, he has undergone a specially designed eye test.
Here for the first time ever, (at enormous expense) we bring you..........
Hamilton's eye check.......

After about 10 light changes, you will observe what must have happened to Lewis' eyes at the pit lane exit lights at Montreal, destroying Kimi's chances of victory..
hahahahahaha
Terrible!
Here are a few pics from Magny-Cours......
Feeling hungry??.....

The light's you idiot, "they were red".

I'll give you this watch, if you'll forgive me!.........

More pics later. (hopefully).
hahahahah
You're funny andro!
Interesting to see them together.
Wonder if it's a PR stunt![]()
It's probably a PR stunt, although kimi doesn't really appear to be the type of guy that harbors grudges.
Yeah, true...
But he doesn't seem to be the type to make friends with Lewis either![]()
Well you can't really blame him for that..![]()
Actually, he doesn't seem the type to make friends at all![]()
I know what you mean Deezee, but I don't really think he can be bothered making either friends or enemies. Although the latter happens automatically at the top end of (any) sport.
He's always got "John Barlycorn" (booze) to comfort him....
Oh no, look what I found......
Weekend weather update - thunderstorms forecast in France
Welcome to the French Grand Prix at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, the eighth round of the 2008 FIA Formula One World Championship.
As in Canada, there is a possibility that rain could affect the outcome of the weekend. Showers are forecast for Thursday, with an ambient temperature high of 23 degrees Celsius. That will rise to 24 as the weekend approaches, but where Friday will be partly cloudy, there will be thunderstorms in the area on Saturday. It will be hotter still on Sunday, at 28 degrees, but again thunderstorms - described as severe - are a definite possibility.
Quote from Kimi on Friendship....
What do you have to do to become one of your friends? - I've got my friends and that's enough. I'm not on the lookout for new ones.
Not even me Kimi??
And WOO HOO!
RAIN!![]()
I'm sure Kimi would make an exception for you, Deezee....![]()
I hope it pisses down every 15 laps ![]()
Andro - He better!!
heller - hehehehe you and I would love that!![]()
Then again, I was channel surfing, and saw on the sports betting section that Kimi is the favourite for this race.... in which case, I'd like a dry track thanks!
btw - have you guys heard about the super license fiasco?
Max rears his head again...
To him those charges probably look reasonable. He probably pays 7858 pounds for a bevy of dominatrixs (?dominatri) and 1570 per lash
Those license prices seem ridiculous to me, but I guess that someone has to pay for Max and Bernies girlfriends/wives etc.![]()
Further to the pics of Kimi and Lewis, I have found an explanation for them.
It was (as we suspected) an exercise in PR......
Kimi, Hamilton, met in Ferrari motor home.......
Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Räikkönen met privately inside the Ferrari motor home on Thursday.
It is believed the pair discussed how to handle their joint appearance at the FIA press conference later that day at Magny-Cours.
It was inevitable that attending reporters would ask the pair, in contention for the 2008 world championship, about their clash in the pitlane during the Canadian grand prix two weeks ago.
Finn Räikkönen, who drives for Ferrari, was critical of Hamilton's inattention at Montreal immediately following the incident, but at Magny-Cours he insisted that he had "not much to say".
"I didn't score any points, so it was a bit of a bad weekend but those come sometimes," he added.
Hamilton, meanwhile, dismissed the crash - for which he will be pushed back ten places on the grid at Magny-Cours - as "such a silly, small incident".
So hanilton thinks it was just a silly small incident, does he?
Well it was certainly silly, foolish, reckless and downright dangerous, if you ask me, and I can only imagine what Kimi and Ferrari (privately) thought about the incident that cost them the race.....![]()
Let's see how good he is with a 10 place penalty at magny-Cours..

Ahhhh.... so my suspicions were true!
Regarding the license charges - I was kinda appalled at the bit where they need to pay for every point they score. I'm sorry, but I don't see the correlation between scoring points and the license.
They should just charge what they want in a once off upfront fee and be happy with it
Up close and personal with Kimi..(Fri practice).

Fandango Alphonzo....

Tyreing work....

Tools of the trade....

The green future of F1.....![]()
I agree with you Deezee, about the monetary penalty for each additional point won..![]()
Wow.... Alonso looks good there!
Yeah.. that's just weird isn't it?
WOO HOO!!!
Finally Kimi gets pole!
Ferrari one-two and Alonso 3rd!![]()
Hamilton was almost non-existent in quali!
OH NO WAY!!
They just said that on Ten HD, the race is live!![]()
I so have to tune my set top box tomorrow![]()
Well if they're going to do things like that, it looks like I will have to buy a set top box!
I've been toying with the idea for some time, but this is the clincher.
Yeah Ferrari, both on the front row of the grid.![]()
Kimi and Filipe had better work out a strategy to stop that poll jumper Alphonzo from ruining their day at the first corner.
hahahahah
Damn, that's funny!
S'ok.... I'm guessing Alonzo is running very very light....
Yeah he's probably running light, but you know how he drives like a lunatic at the first corner, I'm just worried that he may take one of the Ferrari's out in his mad charge.
Kimi says that he could have gone faster.....
Kimi Raikkonen says he could have been even faster after securing pole position for tomorrow's French Grand Prix.
The Finn, winner of the Magny-Cours race last year, set a best time of 1:16.449 to just edge Ferrari teammate Felipe Massa to his first pole since the Spanish Grand Prix.
It was his 16th pole and Ferrari's 200th.
Raikkonen finished over two tenths of a second ahead of third-placed Lewis Hamilton, and the world champion claimed he had more speed in store, but the Finn decided not to complete the final run in order to save fuel as pole was already his.
"I had quite a bit faster lap on the lap I came in, but the team told me to box it because I was fastest anyhow, there was no point to waste a lap of fuel," said Raikkonen, who has not scored a point in the last two races.
"That last lap I was at least two tenths faster so just at the last moment I turned in when I was at the last chicane, when the team told me to box.
"We had good speed all weekend the car has been working well and it has been a great weekend so far but tomorrow we have to finish and hopefully we can win because we need some points."
ooooooo
He can win this!!![]()
'3rd-placed Lewis'?? Lewis was waaay lower!
No, Lewis was third, but will start from No13, as penalty for running into Kimi at Montreal.

Oh! Hmmm.... must have been pretty sleepy last night
Meanwhile, I can't get Ten HD, and I don't know why it won't work![]()
NOOOOOOOOOooooooo
Why Kimi, WHY??!?!?
*pulling hair out*
Sorry, can't help with 10 HD prob....
Poor old Kimi, he has some bad luck doesn't he?
However he managed to hold on for 2nd, and 8 points.
Trulli held on for third, and Kovalainen a well deserved 4th.
Finns took 2nd and 4th positions.
Thank goodness!! I thought Kimi would be out at that stage!
*phew*
But the important thing is that Ferrari were 1st and 2nd.
Amazing effort by Trulli! He did really well!
hehehe yeah.... too bad Massa is leading the c'ship
grrrrr
Yeah, it looked like curtains for Kimi at one stage.
Sure did! That's when I posted the message up there![]()
Kimi will catch Massa up, all he needs is a bit of luck....
yeah i noticed your message when I looked after the race.
![]()
Fingers will be tightly crossed during the next race for sure!
Yeah, Silverstone on 6th July.
may be last race there
Yeah.... I'm not too fussed abt it....
I know there's history there, but it all happened before my time
(Time to catch some shut eye with motpGP in the background. nite nite!)
I'd like to see it back at Brands Hatch, that's where there is some history.
But look at the Moto GP, its at Donnington, doesn't look too flash to me...
G'Nite Deezee....
Yeah, the track seemed a bit understated...
Race was ok. 250cc was more exciting on the last lap
Well at least our Casey Stoner won it (The moto GP) looks like Ducati have the bike and tyres sorted out at last.
Yeah...
I was watching the interview at the end of the race, and I suddenly thought - I wish more drivers/riders were like him.
He's so cheerful and happy, and always has a smile on his face.
You're right Deezee, he always does seem cheerful.
He seemed unbeatable yesterday, a far cry from previous races this season.
OOPS.... I thought I had mentioned Rossi somewhere in my post....
Oh yeah, I was talking abt Rossi.
Stoner is ok, he just seems a bit reserved.
And he says 'you know' a lot, which I find annoying![]()
Yeah, I like Rossi as well, but remember that Stoner is only a kid when compared to him.
I agree about the "you know" bit though....
LOL!
Sending ...
