  • DMP: Dual Music Player

This one I'm having a harder time deciding whether its real or just a concept than I did with the cup thing...

In either case, adding a projector would make it too bulky to carry around like a normal MP3 player (at least until we invent the projector they're using in the cup thing) maybe a video out socket to connect to an ordinary screen...

  • Brix - Another concept of 'screen real estate'

    Looks expensive. I doubt I'd buy 6

  • A computer in a coffee cup

Third picture from the bottom, they misspelled "physical" :P

This seems like vapourware to me, pure concept design. If we had the technology to project holograms like that then my monitor would already be small and cup shaped.

Technically yes, but if they could be sent through wifi I'm sure sandwich shops would see an increase in sales.

Hehe.. 'tis true. The MB Air doesn't have all kinds of stuff.

It can be defended - a lot of the things it leaves out aren't strictly necessary, or are becoming less used as time passes, but still... it's less stuff than normal for more money.

  • REALLY Small DVD Player

I'm looking at that exposed disc at the back and thinking it's either going to snap off, or be used as a weapon.

Possibly both - high speed jagged edge spinning CD = bad news for any face that intersects with it.

Page suspended for exceeding its CPU quota...

So which aggregating site caused that? I'm going to guess Slashdot, possibly Digg ;)

  • DELL XPS M1330 notebook

Does anyone know how strict (or not) Dell is about the distinction between home and business?

There's a laptop only available in the "Small or medium business" section that's much better value than any of the home machines.

I see it going this way -

    Attempt #1
Government: We want to implant you with an ID chip
    Population: Hells no!

    Attempt #2
Government: We want to implant you with this ID chip, it's also a portable web browser, media player, TV and phone
    Population: Awesome!

2880x900 (in terms of number of pixels) is a little over double the size of a 1280x1024 screen. Since you can pretty easily run 2 or more monitors even at higher resolution that 1280x1024 it should be fine.

Games with complimicated graphics might require a graphics card with a bit more muscle than average, but it shouldn't be a big problem.
