You may now commence rabid speculation, inevitably followed by wishing that you were friends with a super genius doctor who was willing to drive you to Sept. 25 in his '80s sports car.

too bad I don't own a 360, or that I've never played a Halo game.

Haha. That's okay. If you've played FPS's on the computer before, you're not missing a lot. But co-op campaign is pretty fun though.

Halo games are pretty good, Halo Wars should be better mostly 'cause I like strategy games

Halo 3 Preorders Top 1 Million

Microsoft announced Thursday that pre-orders for its upcoming Xbox 360 game Halo 3 have now surpassed 1 million. It's become the fastest-selling pre-ordered video game in history, according to Microsoft. Halo 3 is coming on Sept. 25, 2007.

Halo 3 is the latest installment of the first-person shooter series developed by Bungie Studios. The series depicts the ongoing story of the Master Chief, a human who must protect Earth from the ravages of a xenophobic alien attacker known as the Covenant. 

Yeah, I'm excited to play online co-op in Halo 3 with some friends. It'll be sweet!

but graphically it looks like a high-res Doom 3... I'm not that blown away (though gameplay looks really great, which is what makes or breaks a game.)

Halo 3 Breaks Records

It shouldn’t come as a surprise considering all the hype and diehard fanboys who’ve been waiting a few years for it to come out, but Halo 3 did the unexpected and eclipsed Spider-Man 3 for the single biggest US entertainment history launch with estimates of $170 million. The previous record was held by Spidey who garnered $151 million over its opening weekend. Think about that for a second. It even beat out Harry Potter’s last book. This is undoubtedly making Sony quake in their boots as console sales are bound to increase and MS might actually turn a profit on the 360. Step it up, Sony, step it up. Good job, MS.

PC gaming is great

It's THE BEST!

PC Gaming is great, but more expensive. Consoles are exactly that, PCs that are sold at a loss. The one thing I loved about consoles is that the game doesn't need a patch, etc. Not like that anymore . Plus my PC already outpower's a 360 or PS3
 

With PC I can jump seamlessly from a game to Tangler, I'd like to see a console do that!

and internet-browsing on a console doesn't count because it always sucks in the absence of a keyboard and mouse... It's really all about the controls - the keyboard and mouse combo is vastly superior, there's very few things you can do with a gamepad that you can't do with mouse + keyboard...
 

FPS's also suck on Consoles. Sure, Gears of War was great, but I've played it on both 360 and PC... the mouse just works better.

I can think of one edge the gamepads have over the mouse and keyboard - you can hold them in your hands while sat on the couch - keyboards need desks/tables, or any hard flat surface really, so do mice...

Good point. They're also waaay better for Racing games.
