I couldn't find any topics about the Nintendo DS so I made one.
We could share our friend codes here too.
Got one, played for some time, got lots of fun out of it, no longer play it..
kind of a shame, but there's little point in forcing myself to play just because its there
I just got mine monday. No friend code though. McDonalds is the only place with wifi and i cant afford a connector yet.
If anyone's interested, do yourself a favour and pick up an R4 for your DS. It lets you use homebrew software (and run ROMs... *ahem*) which expands the possibilities for your DS.
I have one and it's great.
Also, anyone playing the new Zelda Phantom Hourglass yet? I'm lovin' it!
What an R4? (excuse my ignorance)
More info here: R4DS
It's a cartridge with a MicroSD memory card slot. So you can store files and data on your memory card and then you pop it into the R4 cartridge, which does the rest. Really clever stuff.
Also check out the page on the Oz Mod Chips online store which gives a bunch of good info. It's going for only AUD51 at the moment, which is quite good! Combos with a memory card are good too.
Cool. Thanks!
One of the best homebrew aspects is running emulators for all the old stuff. It feels a lot more natural to play old SNES or NES games on a DS than it does using a computer keyboard (except for the SCUMM emulator, wherein it feels more natural to use a keyboard to play Day of the Tentacle)
I plan on getting a DS, they look pretty cool. I want some Mario games!![]()
Playing NES games on your DS? Is that what your saying Lexiphanic? That would be great!
Yeah MetallicA, I can play NES and SNES games on my DS. You need to get the ROMs from online somewhere but it's easy to do. But yeah, you'll need an R4DS or M3Simply or somesuch.
I love my DS.![]()
That would be sweet. I could play the original Mario Bros!!
Lexiphanic: How good are the Snes emulators for DS? I tried a Snes emulator for the GBA once, and I can't say I enjoyed it... No sound, slow-motion movement and various glitches...
