Not very good at making topics, but here it goes:
1) Belfast, Ireland
2) Nuremberg, Germany (dunno if I spelt it right)
3) Cornwall, UK (been there before, I just love it there!)
4) Antarctica
5) California
6) New York
7) Egypt
8) Iraq (?!)
9) Many places in Australia
10) Japan (Havent decided where yet)
I chose Iraq and Egypt for family reasons. One of my distant relatives was an archaeologist and I want to visit where he went. Anyway, my friends all plan to take a LadaRiva 1500 estate around Europe during our gap year, so any suggestions on that would be appreciated.
A builder, a computer games enthusiast and a scientist slash part time communist travelling around europe in a Lada...what could possibly go wrong?
Aw man, that sounds like great fun!!!
Sounds like a dream adventure to me!
Only problem will be financing the trip but we are determined to do it.

Just look at that tractor engined masterpiece!
Don't put it off if you can make it....
there are plenty of tricks to traveling cheap and since you have car you can sleep in it! You have to do it you'll regret it if you don't!![]()
Sleeping in a car with one person is very different from camping in a car with 2 others!!
I've done it, it is quite the bonding experience!
yeah, sounds.. "cosy"
good use of quotations SK![]()
Yeah, its the "cosiness" that will make me want to bring a tent.
I mean...3 blokes...in a steamy car...in the Netherlands...its enough to put you off your breakfast.
1. Newsagents to pay paperbill
2. Bottom of garden to clean out the pond
3. Local pub for a few beers
4. The Attic to sort out tons of rubbish
5. The garage (similar task to the attic)
6. Next door to drink all their nice wine
7. Disneyland so that I will have something to complain about for eternity
8. Port Stanley. I lent someone a fiver in 1982 and they haven't paid me back yet.
9. Lords to watch England winning the Ashes
10. Somewhere warm with no phones
ROFL!!!!
Love how you think Arthur!
that is a short list AD is that because you have already crossed everything off your list?
7. Disneyland so that I will have something to complain about for eternity.
I like that thinking.
@Kazz. My kids have flown the nest and no longer drain my finances so I can go pretty much where I want (within reason). The only place I really want to go is the Falklands to visit the graves of a couple of old mates. Maybe next year.
And collect a fiver at the same time...
scuba diving
base jumping
Grand Canyon
New York City
Egyptian Pyramids
Rome
Outback
Hong Kong
Oh yeah, I need to go scuba diving to avenge the death of Steve Irwin. I'll add that to my finalised list.
Just go to Singapore and order the Chilli sting ray dish
A splendid idea. I'll order 2 dozen just in case.
what are you planing to do while scuba diving to avenge his death? Take out a sting ray? I don't thing he would approve.
Hey, I just came across this site that fits right in there. It's called 43 things.
Basically, you make a list of 43 things you wanna do before you die. And then you can socialise with other people who have the same items on their list.
To me, the coolest bit is the tag cloud

The Bric thinks 43 things is good... but 43 places is even better....You'll find the Bric on each! Besides the 43 Places I want to go to, I've listed some 937 places I've already been....[as for 43 things... I have 42 on the list to do; and 170 on the "done" list so far] ... nothing like a few years under the belt to give you a chance to do a few things ![]()
hahahaha yeah...
hmmmm... so if I were to start that list now, would I put in stuff I've already done?
Or do I think up 43 more?
I started with a new 43 things I wanted to do -- thats the most fun....and you can have the system send you email reminders of things you have said you will do...
But then, as I went back to the site a few times, I started adding some things I had already done that I saw in other peoples list... I don't think I added too many "New to the System" items myself... you could play that game forever... (have a first kiss, have a first crush, have ..... where do you draw the line?)... the 43 Places on the other hand I entered dozens of new spots that no one had been to...my only problem with this more concrete list was sheer memory!
ah..... yeah....
I'd like to do the 43 places, but I won't be travelling for sometime, and the places I have been to, I sort of don't count (cos I wanna do it all over, my way)
43 things - a tad too structured pour moi me thinks

I plan to interrogate each one with a big torch until I find the culprit who should be in a zoo of some kind or be treated for nervousness, something like that.
I did that 43 things to do before you die once. I just wrote 'eat crisps' 43 times. Then they deleted my account.

haha, love it
HAHAHAHA
Hmmmm.... so they don't accept easy to accomplish lists eh?
Right now I want to go tom Hong Kong because I can't find any TV channels who are covering the Hong Kong Sixes...![]()
Oh! and a couple of tickets wouldn't go amiss either...
And a hotel room maybe? Or would you prefer the airfare?
Hotels are 10 a penny in Hong Kong. In the event I couldn't find one I'd be able to get into a brothel for a tenth of the cost of the Hilton anyway...

Why are you shocked? Have you not heard the old sailors saying of "any port in a storm"?
I'm more shocked at the fact that you know abt the alternative lodgings![]()
"alternative lodgings"
LOL!

@ Ruski why Texas?
I've been to Goondiwindi three times in the last five years and never stopped in at Texas.

Have been pretty much to all the bold text named places on this map except Texas.
Shame on you Ruski!
*shaking head*
LOL

Chernobyl is a good place to eat crisps. Thats going on my refined list. Only £90 for a personal tour outside the reactor, not bad.
I always wanted to go to Texas, Qld, too, but never took the turn off of the New England Highway. Just to say I've been to both Texas and Texas.
Sending ...
