Some of it is kinda odd to think about - computers that outmatch the entire human race in a straight number crunching competition, or the sheer amount of data being generated. We live in interesting times... and yet I somehow don't see things changing all that much - for all the computational advances, we humans can only go so fast and only change so much in a lifetime. As we get older we become more resistant to change, and if everyone's dragging their heels together then it makes a rather effective brake.

I just hope that the super-computer that's smart enough to fix all our problems is invented before those problems become so severe as to prevent us constructing such a computer. If it can then come up with a cure for death within my lifetime, that would be great too.
