I especially liked the part where it makes the point that what we're teaching kids in schools is more or less irrelevant.... which is something I'd say for all my school going years too actually

    Back to the original video...

Some of it is kinda odd to think about - computers that outmatch the entire human race in a straight number crunching competition, or the sheer amount of data being generated. We live in interesting times... and yet I somehow don't see things changing all that much - for all the computational advances, we humans can only go so fast and only change so much in a lifetime. As we get older we become more resistant to change, and if everyone's dragging their heels together then it makes a rather effective brake.

I just hope that the super-computer that's smart enough to fix all our problems is invented before those problems become so severe as to prevent us constructing such a computer. If it can then come up with a cure for death within my lifetime, that would be great too. XP

I would like to meet a computer that can match my speed....

Nothing I've used thus far beats the speed of my thoughts, and therefore actions

    2008-03-11 18:03:24.0

    Ok...I think this is it.....

    Dek, meet your Mind-matching Computer...

    Tongue out
