no daylight savings in arizona, except for the navajo nation. so if you live on navajo reservation (which i don't) and then leave the reservation.......there is a time difference of 1 hour.

while i was checking my information, i found this:  university of arizona (tucson) webcam

this is about 5-10 minutes from my house.

tucson is surrounded by 4 different mountain ranges , i'm going to see if i can find the other 3.

EDIT--that view is shot from about 10 mins. away, the view is what we see outside of my daughter's window (but closer and a little to the right)

happy, you know, you aren't the only one in a different timezone. i think you are about half-way between me and the aussies.

where i'm living now, we don't "do" daylight savings, so the time differences change for me. too confusing for someone who abused their brain cells in their youth, like i did...............it was wll worth it, btw.

I just dont bother and leave all the clocks 1hr inaccurate.

I'm very nit picky about having all my time pieces show accurate time. Only exception is the alarm clock, which I randomly set ahead. I have no idea how ahead it is.

all my clocks show different times at the moment....usually i'm very picky about it too, but they're only ahead or behind by a few minutes

I agree with Deezee, a clock/watch that is showing the wrong time is worse than no clock at all....(got to be within 5-10 secs)

Pfft... I at least like to have my alarm clock set a few minutes early, just in case, so I still have enough time, and am never late. (it never works, as I usually just lay in bed after the thing has gone off, to the latest possible moment, then get up..) I'm always late for everything

I used to set the alarm 5 mins before I had to get up, but it doesn't work because you know that it has gone off early and you dont get up then anyway.

Being a sad bastard I have a clock which is synchronised to the 60Khz MSF Clock from Rugby, UK.  It's range is about 1000 miles so no use to you in Oz.  Accuracy is better than 0.05 of a second per day.  You can also get clocks which use the GPS time source.

I set 5 alarms in total. The first one is on my phone, and goes off 5min before the *beep-beep-beep* loud alarm clock. The second one on my phone is set for around the same time as my alarm clock, so as to maximise the amount of noise and effort required to turn them off. The third alarm on my phone goes off 5 min later, and the alarm on my pc, 5min after that.

And Andro and Morgan - That is exactly why I have set my alarm clock to be faster without knowing how much faster it is....

It's one of them radio alarm clocks, and I go into my room with my eyes closed, and just hit the respective buttons, and then without looking at the new time, walk out. Done!

Mr Dent - I'm jealous.... All I have to rely on for 'correct' time is the computer clock. And Google, though I suspect they rely on a computer clock too....

And given that it's probably Windows, I haven't been able to get rid of the feeling that it might be wrong

I think mine is wrong...because at one stage all my clocks were in sync....and i haven't changed or reset any of them and now they are all different...but its funny how i dont worry about my phone or my alarm clock...its the pc that must be wrong!

I have my PC clock kept accurate by the US Naval Observatory. I would set it to check against somewhere closer, but the program is annoying and won't work in the way I expect it to, so I leave it set to using the default...

Then every so often I sync the other clocks in my life against the PC, and I always try to get it as dead on as possible when I do so... to the second if I can 

Not all clocks are so easily adjusted though - like my watch, you can't manually adjust the seconds, just press a button to set them to 0. Needs quick button-pressing to get it dead on.

Oh hey, I got really good at that with my old watch!
