hey happy...is it a case of your computer has never died...or that when it does, its so bad that it isn't capable of displaying a BSOD?

Who knows, could be both as I said we'll just never know...

The Irish make excellent PC's n shizzle like that. None of my 4 Dell's from Ireland have ever so much as crashed. Maybee I just treat them well?

They did not! But the non-irish Amstrad PC 3086 did!

I have a Dell laptop... bluescreened once 'cause the CD drive was failing, got a replacement and now it's fine

Only other bluescreenage I've seen in recent times was a weird, random and not repeated since one involving the sound card driver doing something it shouldn't.

sounds naughty......i hope that card driver was suitably disciplined.

I attacked mine with a spoon. Worked well since then

I once made an old PC run better by kicking it - it was refusing to read a CD so I kicked it, then it worked.

I think I knocked some dust out of the workings or something...

Made it quieter too... possibly due to dust also being dislodged from the fans

attack is not the same as discipline......usually......

My college works differently to others.

We had an attack of the BSOD's yesterday in the office. 4pc's about 10min apart each just died.

epic. not in a good way.

We were just waiting to see who would go next - unfortunately it stopped at four.,

I haven't seen a BSOD since win 2000 I think. But that blue still strikes dread in my heart. When I reformat my comp, and all the steps/prompts show on that background, it's an effort to keep my hands steady

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered a Dell Inspiron yesterday. Still didn't get the screen res I want, but it has everything else for a great price.

Now to wait....

...and i was agonizing over what color to choose anyway.......this made it a simpler decision.....

i got a card reader and webcam and dvd burner and wi-fi catcher.....and a bunch of other stuff.....for substantially less than the inspiron.........mine is just a little heavier and bulkier... 

They did have any of those options on mine, and when I asked for it, they said they don't offer those for business laptops.

The Inspiron is pretty freaking cheap tho, thank goodness

the vostro was on sale at the end of last summer......it's very strange that you aren't able to get those options...
