that was my first thought.....needs a big you are here arrow.

    2009-01-07 21:39:50.0

    hang on....aren't we in Sol?

    2009-01-07 21:41:01.0

I agree, we'd be in Sol.

Also, good news for our Andromeda travelers.  Starting 3tm* years from now, and continuing for 1tm years, the Milky Way and Andromeda will be integrating their local services more closely.  Some downtime during this period is to be expected, and will not last more than a few million years for any expanse.

*(because billion is ill-defined, we use tm = thousand million = 1,000,000,000)

    2009-01-07 22:58:27.0

Ahem......over my dead body, we will..Yell

    2009-01-08 00:44:10.0

You can be wherever you like, but leave me out of it....Sol, indeed.Surprised

    2009-01-08 00:47:09.0

    hahahahaha

I was wondering what you'd have to say about that!

    2009-01-08 01:33:11.0

Ahem......over my dead body, we will..Yell

Umm...,  that's kinda the point.... Undecided

    2009-01-08 01:36:40.0

the Milky Way and Andromeda will be integrating their local services more closely

    oooh....baby Andros?

    2009-01-08 10:35:04.0

Andro, correct me if I'm wrong, but you were playing on the word 'Sol' weren't you?

    2009-01-08 16:39:47.0

    Hahaha, "Oils aint oils, Sol"...Laughing

    2009-01-08 22:55:45.0

    oooh....baby Andros?

    Not if we're careful..Wink

It is well documented that the Earth is located in ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha which places it in the unfashionable Western Spiral Arm of the Galaxy, which is not clearly located on the shown map.

    2009-01-09 05:57:23.0

...and I doubt it's anywhere near Sol because it's position doesn't indicate it being on a spiral arm.  Maybe it's TT Aquilla or M13?

    2009-01-09 05:59:03.0

We are indeed in Sagittarius. We take an orbit between Sagittarius and Scutum-Crux, actually. Sol indicates in most ways that it is indeed the sun, however it is a little off in this rendering.

I had a Milky Way the other day. On the wrapper it said it contained 40% less of whatever its word for bad things than a regular chocolate bar. Trouble was it's about 60% smaller than as well. Not that I give a crap about less fat and all this. Recently I was after a tub of your bog standard Philadelphia cream cheese. The variety was alarming. I could have got 80% fat reduced, 70% fat reduced or 60% fat reduced. What I was actually after was the full catastrophe but apparently the 60% reduced is what was once considered the standard stuff. Funny how it is now the sports model.

It took me a little while to make the connection to the topic...

    ^_^'

    2009-01-11 21:26:01.0

Actually, you can still get the standard Philly cream cheese. They might have run out?

    2009-01-11 21:26:32.0

The spanish form of Philadelphia is 'Filadelfia'. I almost rolled over laughing at the airport.

(Airport is becoming somewhat troubling to spell... Undecided)

Getting lost in the Milky Way. Hmmn. Here was I thinking you were all onto universal spatial kinda things. Agree with you Ruski about the confusing messaging put out by the FMCG companies be it for chocolate, Philadelphia, washing powder / conditioner now in super concentrate form (which works out cheaper?) and in my case yesterday ... yoghurt. Said it was 99% Fat Free. Sounds fantastic until you look at the sugar content!

    2009-01-12 16:13:39.0

If it didn't have such a high sugar content, nobody would want to eat it. Have you ever tasted yogurt without heaps of sugar? Eww.

    2009-01-12 16:39:50.0

Not unlike the "Light and Tasty" cheese. Another oxymoron to the list ... though not as good as "Microsoft Works"

    2009-01-12 17:03:18.0

Not a punny oxymoron, but I love when I reinstall Windows and the install screen has all these boasts about how great XP is, that must have been written when XP was actually new technology... they're hilarious.

I'll have to do another install at some point and take note of them, but it was things like "The My Music folder makes it easy and fun to organise your personal music library" or something about IE being the most secure version yet... or Windows Firewall being touted as a way to keep your PC safe.

    2009-01-12 17:51:36.0

SK - hahahah I laugh at the same thing!!

It's so entertaining... until you started setting everything up....

    2009-01-12 18:42:35.0

Synth - I only really like homemade yoghurt. So it doesn't have sugar.

The one my mum makes, and what I used to get in India - bellissimo!

I remember the first version of Windos that I had.  It came in a box (same size as the current box) that was stuffed to the gunnels with floppy disks.  After installing it and trying to get some things done I picked up the manual and read the introduction.  "Windows 2.1, revolutionary software that will make your PC easier to use"

    Yeah right!

    2009-01-13 01:10:03.0

It wasn't windows' fault... it was the floppies
