I've been spending some time going through my music library in reverse, in hope to find evidence of backmasking in some songs.
Apart from finding out that almost all songs by U2 sound exactly the same backwards as they do forwards, the song 'The Sweetest Thing' actually says 'Redemption' when you listen to it in reverse. The song famously was written by Bono, as an apology to his wife, and the film clip features things that she found enjoyment from (note: the firemen hehe).
There are many songs out there with hidden messages recorded through backmasking, I'm wondering if you know or have heard of any good ones?
Whoa... When I saw the topic title, I had visions of a mask painted on people's backs...
There was a 'famous' one when I was in high school... something about 'satanic' messages in the song.

I have to agree with Sir M here. I have heard many things in my life. They amount to good, bad and indifferent. One thing I have never done is play any music backwards. I can't say that I want to do so either, most of it sounds bad enough played forwards..

That's easy. Just grow old gracefully, watch what goes on around you and pick out the differences between crap, reality and criminal.
I don't know, I think there is a lot of overlap in those three categories.

I think that when you were in High School Dek, the most recent version of Stairway to Heaven would have been the one by Rolf Harris, not Led Zeppelin...

Um... the article says that it's just caused by our ability to find patterns in just about any random noise, the backwards-speech guy is pretty much being put down.
