Parkour is an "art", the art of free movement. In terms of what it looks like in practice, it's an extreme sport where people try to move as fast as possible in an urban environment.

Check out this clip of David Belle doing Parkour. It's a little clip taken from a French movie, "Banlilue 13" (Known as District B13 in America).

    Really?? How sad...

It really is remarkable. Everyday Superheroes

    2007-02-10 17:20:29.0

At first I was skeptical. Run around and do stunt-type things but I am slowly starting to see the appeal. It would be FUN. It's like looking at any sport the first time - I usually ask WHY are they doing that?  Why is this perceived as fun? Why would anyone WANT to do THAT? But I see the grace in parkour...

    2007-02-14 19:01:43.0

And it's lots of skill and core strength....

    Amazing stuff

    2007-02-14 19:09:28.0

I think the sport was further popularised by Luc besson's, 'Yamakasi'

    2007-02-17 03:15:20.0

James Bond also had one of these athletes acting as the 'bad guy' in one of the better scenes of the movie..
