I know it's a little soon, but I turned on the radio this morning and heard And the big news this morning is that Michael Jackson has died.  He was admitted into hospital and it has been reported on entertainment news that he has died, although there has been no official word as of yet.  And as a tribute, we'll now play some Michael Jackson.  This is "Don't stop 'til you get enough" from "History: Past, present and Future."

I can't make that shit up....

And I wonder how long it will be until someone blames the Chaser for their "Michael Jackson disguises" sketch?

We had something of a heat wave just recently, although by the standards of other countries it was probably more along the lines of "a little bit warmish"

At that point it was probably high 20s (celsius), in the week it pushed it's way up, I think to the 30s.

Hey hey, in my defence, I had the thought when I was in San Fran!

I've had the thought every bloody winter! If only I had the money to keep hopping around the world, chasing the sun...

It snows in England maybe one day a year, tops.

And most of the time said snow melts as soon as it hits the ground.

In cases when it doesn't, it might accumulate an inch or so of coverage, which is enough to bring the entire country to a grinding halt because we're not really used to it happening.

We're in that unhappy middle ground between somewhere where it snows all the time (so everyone knows how to just get on with things) and somewhere where it never snows (so no-one needs to know how to get on with things)

Didn't you guys have the worst snow season ever at the end of last year (slash start of this year)?

Didnt you go on holiday around then anyway? my memory is messed up... maybe you didnt... but I do remember a holiday... and moving house... possibly not at the same time though 

Last snow I remember, I was at home and took some pictures out of the window, which if you can be bothered to look will still be around somewhere

Moving house happened just recently, nowhere near any snow... unless you mean moving into the house we just moved out of, in which case that happened a while before the snow.

Holiday... hell knows, don't remember being snowed on while on holiday though.

Well I've never seen snow, unless you count the closest thing I've ever seen, which is what builds up in your freezer.

I did once in fact, scrape enough off the sides to make a (single) 'snowball' ... and I felt so proud...
