Yes Maam!
*salutes*
Are we dead yet?
hehehehehe....
approximately 1.6 million people die each day. (or something like that)
Actually, I just made that number up because it sounded good, but I know its lots.
Wonder how many kids are born each day
probably about the same, plus a little more i think
Do you want me to find out? It'll take me a while to finish counting...
Lol, by the time you've finished, you'll have to start all over again!
Ready? Go!
The internet says 368,314 births, 155,131 deaths per day.
Holy crap! Almost double?!
Colour me gobsmacked
No wonder the worlds over-populated...
No kidding!
Seeing that Morgan has seen fit to supercede the original LHC topic with this (Ver II) one, I thought it was appropriate that there should be a post that actually dealt with the subject...
Here you will find an update from the BBC..entitled "LHC gets warning system upgrade".
And here you can access the latest 'CERN Bulletin' articles...
It looks like the LHC will be restarted sometime in November this year.
The collider has been shut down since 19 September 2008, when a magnet problem caused a tonne of liquid helium to leak into the LHC tunnel....and all the while we were waiting for the Earth to disappear into a black hole...
So it looks like we're safe until (at least) November...![]()
Are we dead yet?
Sorry.... it's what my brain throws up as any LHC topic loads![]()
I would say that yes, certain parts of you are already dead.
I guess the rest isn't that far behind...
Thanks Sir M.... That clears it up.

Glad to be of service young dekypoos.
Are we dead yet?
dekypoos?!
I believe that we started dying as soon as we were created. I used to have a theory about how breathing kills you but I won't go into that because its a bit stupid and I can't remember most of it anyway..
Ah... but we are also recreated as we die...
Yeah... It just slows down a lot as you get older lol
hahahahaha Yeah!
It must be true Morgan. Have you ever seen a dead person breathing...?
Do vampires breathe?
No need to start a quiz Dek, it was one of those questions that get asked to illustrate a point.
But I lurrrve quizzes!
It must be true Morgan. Have you ever seen a dead person breathing...?
But... wait... living people breathe, dead people do not breathe, therefore breathing kills you? Seems more like breathing correlates with being alive. Therefore the way to live forever is to never stop breathing.
*gasp* You've solved the age old quest!
But... wait... living people breathe, dead people do not breathe, therefore breathing kills you?
I an rather of the opinion that the cessation of breathing is one of the signs of death and the cause of the cessation of breathing is possibly the cause if death..(but not necessarily so)![]()
I agree... I think...
The bit you quoted was me not understanding how "Have you ever seen a dead person breathing" supported the idea that breathing kills you.
Breathing keeps you alive untill you stop breathing and death usually follows soonafter..(unless of course you are kept alive by means of a ventilator, or other device)..
Until of course we are swallowed up by a black hole, at which time we will all cease to exist..(at least in the form that we now exist)
Are we dead yet?
Oh sorry
Am I in the LOTU forum...? There seems to be lots of hyper-theroretical speak going on here.
You might be dead and maybe have gone to heaven?
The theory was based around the fact that as soon as you were born, you started breathing atmospheric air, which you were not breathing before you were born. The implication is that had you not started breathing atmospheric air, you would not have the need to keep breathing it, therefore it could not kill you once you stopped.
You could say the same for eating as well.
Yep ![]()
Actually, most bodily functions fall under that category...
People do things that they are required to do to continue living, when they are separated from the placental mechanisms that previously did those things for them.
News at 11.
Or in a less sarcastic phrasing, blood needs to get oxygenated one way or another. The reason we don't breathe air before we're born is that there is no air inside the womb, and oxygen is conveniently provided by the mother.
Whoops... there go another couple million cells...
*sob*
I realise that the LHC is not a popular topic on this Topic, but I thought that you may be interested in the latest Cern Bulletin..
You will be banned for bring this topic back on topic....

It would appear that things are 'relatively' normal in the CERN facility. According to this anyway...
Ah-ha, now we know the reason behind the incident that damaged the electromagnets...they were all pissed at the time...Unless of course (as was previously mooted) the LHC is indeed being sabotaged from the future...
Good link there Andro. I spotted a link in the page you linked to saying about iPad2 having problems. Being rather a busy person these days I hadn't spotted the reports before and now I've cancelled my order for tomorrow. Perhaps I'll put up with my old iPad1 for a few more months until they've fixed the issues...
Ah, well then Mr Dent, this one's for you http://www.news.com.au/technology/you-dont-argue-with-the-wife-unless-youre-apple/story-e6frfro0-1226026631720
Mrs Dent wouldn't have the brass-neck to complain about me spending a few quid on an iPad. See posts in Rugby Union forum..
LOL!
Well then, fair is fair![]()
