Christmas done and dusted for another year. It *was* a success, but I don't think I'll do it again anytime soon.
What I'm completely amazed at was that I just walked into our living room, and it is CLEAN!!! (I went to bed early, around 10, and only just woke up.) I was expecting much more of a bombsite to be honest.
How did everyone else's Christmas turn out?
It's not quite done here yet, still got about another hour in the day ![]()
Mine was good. Had a fun drive, even if I didn't see any ghost towns![]()
Twas good...
LOL Mr Dent.... there are so many ways to take those two words
Take them in the the best ways. The best ways don't hurt and give the most pleasure...
Good! Glad to hear it!
Hrmp
You're back andro!!
How was Christmas?
Why are we thanking the budgies?
I wondered the same thing, but then didn't want to give Mr Dent another reason to laugh at me.
Plus budgies are pretty, so I don't mind thanking them. And they poop in my backyard.
Not true Dek... I will laugh at things you say and do but I've no reason to laugh at You.
As you say, budgies are nice little birds and it's about time they got thanked for something. Who's to say they are not responsible for setting up Christmas when it's a successful one...?
Oh wow.... so schweeeet Mr Dent![]()
And I dunno... what if the sharks are responsible for the successful Christmas?![]()
Meanwhile, I just noticed Morgan already has hey party hat on.
Sir M, you're soooo last week...![]()
HA!
Party hat is now on....
And where might yours be, young lady?
Already in the mood for new years, sitting in an airport at the moment, drinking already, waiting for a flight that's been delayed.. gah, hate waiting for flights! ![]()
Heh.... turns out New Year's is tomorrow. Who'd have thunk it?!
Tomorrow is 'Hogmanay'..![]()
An excuse (which I don't need) to sample some fine Single Malt Scotch Whisky..![]()
To answer your previous question, Deezee...Christmas was just fine here..//
Christmas is all about the children, and so we started off by taking all the grandchildren to the Nativity Play on Chrissy eve (which they all enjoyed immensely) then to a healthy warm up meal at Macca's..![]()
Christmas day was loads of fun with the kids playing in their fort and swimming in the pool, we had them (and us) exhausted by about 5.00pm...
So 'twas a good day..
Oh, and I nearly forgot to add....I managed to get outside of a goodly amount of food and lager as well..![]()
Yeah, Christmas is the most fun with kids. It's the only time I'm not grinchy![]()
Glad to hear you had a good one andro.
And Happy Hogmanay!
Thank you, deezee and "Slangevar" to you as well..
Slangevar!
*downs her chai*
Well done!.....We'll make a Celt out of you yet..![]()
Oh, I was close to being a Celt last night![]()
Oooh, thats exciting..![]()
You'd be welcome as a 'first footer' at hogmanay..
(they love it when a dark haired stranger is the first to set foot in their house after midnight) The first footers always used to carry a piece of coal with then, but you can take a bottle of scotch instead...![]()
Oh! That's interesting!!
Guess I should plan a trip to Scotland for next new year's!![]()
No. I didn't get a pair of budgee smugglers for xmas.
Bummer...

hahaha WTF!?
hehehehe eggactly
I wonder if they sold any, and how much is cheap?
I dunno, but I'm selling unassembled snow at my place!
Sir M, you should try it and let the rest of us know!
Mind you, I'd pay to have some snow shipped over here...
It's 41.1 degrees at 2pm-ish here.
You know what happens at 41.1 degrees?? You melt, along with everything else around you....
Oh, my bad, it was 41.3 degrees.
Now it's 41.2.
A cool change!! Wheeeeee!
HAHAHAHA!!! Hang in there dek!
It went down to 40.5....
....and then back up to 41.3 in 1/2 hour!!

Maybe it's so hot, the weather equipment broke?
heheheh yeah, I thought of that too
But then there was this:
23/03:18pm
25.3
23/03:11pm
40.7
That's a 15 degree drop in 7 minutes!
![]()
I remember that happening though... Always about 3pm the sun would disappear behind the buildings and it would get freezing in the city. Even if it was hot previously. I remember waking up at 6 in the morning, 18 degrees, and by the time I was at the train station half an hour later it would be thirty-something!
Yeah, but that kind of a drop is pretty spectacular. Usually there's a change of bet 5-7 degrees from day to night....
Right now it's 18.8. More than 20 degrees change in a day! I'm actually using a doona now! HAHAHAHA
I think that's why the people in Darwin think it's cold when we get temperatures like that at night. It's because every day it's like 33 degrees, so when it drops by 15-20 degrees at night they freeze.
Personally I think it's totally bizarre to see people wearing jumpers and jeans when the temp is about 22-25.
The people here dress like it's minus eleven or something, and I'm still walking around in shorts and tees and skirts and singlets! ![]()
LOL
Hey, I've seen people rug up on the slightly cooler days here.... weirdos![]()
Sending ...
