    You can check to see if the domain is about to expire here: http://centralops.net/co/ click Domain Dossier and enter the domain name and click go. This may give you the owner of the domain and contact details. Its worth contacting them to see if they will release it to you for a small fee, if your in the UK you can approach Nomitet (or Internic for US, AU and other countries). They may help you get it if its a datamined ad site.
