Latest Iteration of Proposal to the Board
The proposal has a description of why we've done a "practice" wiki to gain experience in how it might work, but there's not really anything saying why we want to do a wiki in the first place is there? Or is it obvious? The main points being it's organized, easier to find information, and you can refine, collaborate, update articles and avoid all the off-topic, tangents etc. that come up in forum threads? Something like that

I'm happy to say "Rick Ferri says he likes High Yield, and lots of it!" But I thought it might be a little different to publish and entire table of data, where rather th an visting a website,or buying and reading a book, you could have access to this data on another site. Having said that I doubt any of them would mind. I can check w/Rick, not sure if Dr Bill posts?

The Vanguard International Funds already had a FAQ. As Barry says I copied all the forum suggestions into a FAQ as well. Others had started other FAQs. As the main FAQ I created grew, it seemed it would be too large for a single page, so my thinking was we'd place the questions there as a placeholder, then move the entire section to its own page and then just have a single link for say "domestic stock FAQ". But I don't know what's best, we're just putting stuff out there.
Same goes for the main page. I wanted to start this off in an organized way, but I think maybe went overboard. We've had to mark items that have content with a "C". Once it fills out it will be fine, but maybe we should remove some of those placeholder links I came up with and just have a few main topics/folders. I was just worried we'd have random pages all over and have to resort to searching (like teh forum) to be able to find anything

while you're at it, I thought after creating that page that I would combine it withhistoric returns, so would you mind renaming it Historical and Expected Returns?

off topic, but if I click on "View all pages" I see buttons to Delete and Rename each page. Do I have admin rights suddenly, or have those always been there? Sounds dangerous!

I have posted a Book List and two book reviews. The list of books I combined from several sources, mostly on diehards.org. I thought each book could have a link to a review(s) and also any diehard discussions (i.e. Ben Stein, Ray Lucia, Nicholas Taleb generate a lot of discussion).
As for the book reviews, what I tried to do is keep it objective as possible - mainly a synopsis of the book and list the contents, but also describe as best as possible who the target audience is (is it a beginner's book). Are there lots of pretty pictures, or is it heavy on theory, etc.
Then I added a section at the bottom "Readers Comments" where individuals can post their subjective opinions, good or bad. We could use the actual Comments feature, but for now I put it into the body of the article, partly because we may move to a different wiki.
I have 4-5 other books I may review, but would like some feedback before I do. Too long? Boring? Missing anything?

B. Guide also suggests that you may need to get professional help if the amount is large or has big tax implications. There is always the question of DCA with large sums. There have been numerous threads lately, so you could check PiperWarrior and Laura's responses to those posts. To me the advice to put in MM and take a deep breath and re-evaluate your needs is top advice.
