We have a slight case of unintended consequences here. I created the pages on Target Retirement Funds, Total Stock Market Index, and Total Bond Market Index partly to provide models for the many similar articles the hordes
of wiki newbies could write.
Ken - If you want the writers to use these as templates, tag the existing pages as templates, so when someone starts a new page, they can select one of the existing pages as a template. You probably know this already, but others may refer to FAQ for wiki contributors to create templates

Announcement: Our Proposal to the Board has been posted
Barry - Thanks for the update.
I logged into the tangler forum and accepted the invitation link (Recent Activity-> Accept Invitation) but the forum link that you had in your email seems invalid.

Ken - Not entirely true. You may have additional privileges since you are a Editor/Moderator. Contributors cannot create folders (atleast I can't) - which is good in a way so we won't end up with tons of new folders. Not sure if creating a new folder shows up in Recent Activity. This would alert us if new folders are created unknowingly.
Also I noticed that in some cases, as a contributor - you can move a post to a folder (Eg: Proposal). In other cases it says "You don't have permission to change this page's folder" [Eg: Expected Returns]

Latest Iteration of Proposal to the Board
Should there be a copyright/copyleft link somewhere in the wiki?

To insert Footnotes:
While editing the page
- Click on "Insert Plugin" at the top of the page
- Click on "PBwiki magic"
- Select "Footnote"
- Add your footnote (wiki takes care of numbering your footnotes)
-HTH

If you see yourself creating pages using a similar format, you can create your own templates. For example I created a template based on the page Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund by adding "template" to the Tags. Now when you try to create a new page in wiki, it'll show the "Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund" page as a template.
You can make any page as a template just by adding the tag "template" to that page.
This feature will be useful for FAQs etc. Hope it helps.

Ken - (I believe) Currently Alex and Larry have access to the Unix server (hosting diehards.org and the Bogleheads Forum).
The good thing is they are running Fedora (Linux) with Apache [Webserver], MySql [Database] and PHP already installed so no matter which wiki software [mediawiki or others] they decide to go with, the pre-requisites are already installed.

What is the difference between FAQ and Vanguard FAQ? Is the idea to have only links pointing to different FAQs (VG FAQ, Retirement FAQ etc)?
I know there are lots of topics that need to be covered. Are we following any plan? Is there a priority list?
Let me know if it's just me but on most of the pages unless the content is a link (which changes the color of the text), the section heading/question and the contents/answer seem to have very similar font, thereby making it hard to differentiate. Can we use some sort of distinction, questions italicized or use a different color for questions. ToggleToc / CollapsibleToc is a pretty cool widget which will be perfect for a FAQ.
