Fellow Wiki members:
I have posted our Proposal for the Creation of a Forum Wiki for the Forum Administration Committee to examine. As suggested by wiki members, I included a few direct links to some of our Wiki pages to give the Committee a sample of our efforts. I provided them with a link to Grabiner's project of developing a FAQ for the forum; a link to the fine page on books; a link to the page on the Total Bond Market Index; as well as the reference page on Money Markets. I also pointed out that the folder sidebar was the easiest means of finding wiki pages in our infant wiki.
If it is any solace, a number of individuals who are members of the Committee have expressed admiration for our efforts, and agree that our Wiki is a very good thing.(These expressions of support came when I e-mailed some of them with a progress report on our efforts; we shall have to see how they judge our proposal.)
I will try and keep everyone abreast of how subsequent events transpire.
Barry
Barry, thanks for the update.
Early Report:
As of 2pm (EDT) , Saturday, 05/03/08, our proposal has received ten views and zero comments. If, at the end of the weekend, there is no response, I will add a note of "Comments Welcome" to the thread.
In anticipation of the need to find a host sponsor outside of diehards.org. (perhaps our affiliated Canadian sister forum, Webring, or perhaps a current forum member who would be willing to provide the server host for a forum wiki. I have created a second.private forum for providing a discussion venue for such plans. The second forum, The Bogleheads Wiki Administrative Forum, has been linked to the Wiki sidebar.

Barry, the lack of comments isn't exactly encouraging. I'm having technical trouble accepting your invitation to the new forum, and I've sent you a PM about it.
I have tried sending a second invitation. I posted a "comments welcome" post to the proposal thread, and Taylor, while claiming no notion as to the admininstrative issues involved, lends his support to the idea of adding the wiki to the forum.
Barry, I had no luck with the 2nd invitation either; I sent you another PM about it.
Taylor's support certainly can't hurt!
Barry - Thanks for the update.
I logged into the tangler forum and accepted the invitation link (Recent Activity-> Accept Invitation) but the forum link that you had in your email seems invalid.
Hi:
I am at work and can only drop by during a break. Everyone seems to have a problem signing into the private forum, although I have followed the invitation procedures from tangler. Perhaps if you have the time you can e-mail tangler and see what the problem is, especially since you are much better with technical problems than I am. I am looking to establish a private discussion area since, if Alex and Larry cannot host the wiki, we would most likely want to discuss establishing an independent wiki from a donated server with the "angel" providers of the space, and a private forum would seem to me to be the best way of handling the discussions, This is just an advance step in case diehard.org turns down hosting the wiki.
Barry
Simba, you're a genius! Actually, I'm pretty dumb.
I'm now enrolled in the new forum. The link to the The Bogleheads Wiki Administrative Forum in the Wiki's sidebar seems to work fine.
Edit: I've indeed posted successfully to the new forum.
For those who accepted the the invitation link but are unable to login to the new private forum. Click on the The Bogleheads Wiki Administrative Forum on the sidebar at the Bogleheadswiki
Mel has also responded, praising our team for building "a powerful knowledge base for investors" and recommending the addition of our wiki to the forum; although he is unsure about cost and server overload.
Barry, having Mel and Taylor on board definitely helps. I'm waiting for you to write that Alex likes the idea!
