I guess if anyone is going to post a first topic it ought to be me.![]()
If you stop in, please say hi.
Hi Fred,
Was just reading your BarCamp wrap-up -- I was in the CTO discussion too and thought it was a good one... Startups are tough in so many ways, other than the obvious ones and at the end of the day, you've got to be enjoying your life or it is all too much of a grind.
I am starting to think that a group "meet up and bitch" session for local startups might be a good idea...
-Nick
I'd be up for that. I have mostly good experiences, especially with my peeps. There are definitely some life-work balance things I'd like to solve. Part of my "why are you doing this" quest.
I was in your session too. The comments you made about the differences in regional startup environments was really interesting. Thanks!
heh-heh.. BitchCamp RDU ![]()
Hi!
Hey Fred - welcome to the Tangle. You are the 4th person in the world ever to have a Tangle. You can tell your great great grand kids about it one day via telepathy Skype
Always a bridesmaid; never a bride. sigh...

Oh Fred, you'll be a bride one day - you just have to find the right web app!

Hey, why don't we brainstem/storm a new idea for using Tangler and you can create the first one?
k -
Like....... ummmmmmmmmmmmmm
I would like to point my build machine failures at my team's tangler. Not overwhelming like checkins, but indications that build has failed and someone needs to fox something before anyone else can checkin...
One thing that a few of us have at Tangler is a private scratchpad, a group where we can try things out in Tangler like pasting in different videos, etc, So you could create the first Public Scratch Pad.
I'm all for getting stuff out of my email inbox and into a better context
yeah, build notes is a good idea
It would be great to have a Tangler plugin where you CC an email address and it automatically creates a topic for you in your own public group.
Hmmmm......... let me think upon it a bit.
I was at a barcamp session where people showed off their various Mac OS productivity tips. Screencasts of those would be a pretty cool topic
What about goal setting? You proclaim your goal to the world, set a date and everyone supports/giggls at you.
I'm using wordpress and have turned off comments. When I post, would be cool to automajically create a topic to hold comments for that post. That seems like one you guys prob already thought of
I've thought of something similar called golden threads. You post a goal and others can post smaller goals and actions that would help get it done. Each goal gets broken down into smaller goals and actions in a tree like shape
I had a CEO who called it golden threads. Stole it from him. Basically, he owned the top level goals. But a non-profit, service organization that posted goals as a wishlist might get some help
Yep, that's coming in the next few months - the wordpress api. We just have to grow measuredly.
Like the idea of golden Threads.
That's it.... I'm starting a Tangle too! 5 ppl have already beaten me to it?! grrrrrrrrrrrrr
I looked, but I couldn't find it. You would be 5 right? At least your tangle number is prime. That's special ![]()
Golden threads sounds like a chaotic way to divide and conquer. How would that work for software developmet? Oh, we do it already. It's called open source... ![]()
hehehehe Okay, that's it... I'm getting me a Tangle today!
Sending ...
