There's no way to go for a Win, if we do not know what constitutes an Win -- that which is in harmonious with our deepest values.
That's from the 7 Habits book and it showed up on my calendar today. To be honest, there are times to get in touch with your values and there are times to get in touch with the working end of your broom. The GTD stuff is all about cranking out widgets, but people rarely make it to the end of the book where he talks about the 50K foot view of your life.
Likewise, the Franklin-Covey stuff is all about starting with values and planning down to the point where you can schedule tasks.
You gotta do both, but it "feels" like you're getting stuff done with GTD. Sometimes it's hard to block some time to reflect on what's really important.
