    Hi Nokternl. I grew up in Gosnells and lived in Mt Lawley, Kalamunda and East Perth later on. WA is great and very different to the East Coast. It is the most isolated city in the word. The closest city to Perth is a non-Aussie one. It's Singapore. I think Geraldton (5 hrs drive north of Perth) is the second most windiest place in the world. Or maybe the windiest. My first journalism job was in Geraldton and I used to report on the windsurfing carnival there. Lots of shipwrecks too - French, Dutch boats etc...

    We drove to all the borders in Estonia just for the fun of it! Look. I live on an island (Australia). That country had a lot of novelty value for me. We drove to the Russian border and the Latvian border. There were lots of signs along the side of the road saying Don't Stop but we did. I was dying for the loo and did what any good Western Australian road traveller would do in the event of a toilet stop emergency, that si, when there are no toilets and you are in the country...
