I'm living in the Chicago area, Chicagoland as we call it, in the US of A. I'm just a few miles north of O'Hare Airport in a sububrb called Des Plaines.

I hear it gets cold in Winter there? My brother said they have a rope to help people get from the carpark to the building........

I am a Chicago native (North side, around Foster & Western), but 4 years ago moved to Madison, Wisconsin.  I think I've gotten over the shock. . . .  I spent 10 years or so as a Chicago Public School teacher (9-10th grade English & Algebra), but burned out and am working on Career 2.0--whatever that is.

And, yes, it gets cold - but not as cold as it used to, like in '79 when we went to get groceries on a sled.  The mayor lost reelection over that one. . .  

Though for DesPlaines, you should ask if Noel has been flooded out recently.  Noel?

I blogged about Tangler on FTS  my blog. Of course no one has commented yet in the new group, but perhaps it'll catch on. I'm really interested to see how the blog integration goes for Tangler. That would for me seem to be the holy grail of a new type of message board like this.
