Mumspace.net aims to give mums every opportunity to succeed, both
personally and financially, and embrace the challenges that come with
    motherhood.

Founded by mums, mumspace.net is a service designed to bring together
the fantastic technology today's web has to offer, and make it easy for
your average mum to use. And while they're using it, they can band
together with other mums within the mumspace.net community and continue
to offer each other support and encouragement, whether child-related or
not, through this thing they call motherhood.

Mumspace.net has come through many different stages, beginning as a
single blogging engine and now becoming a social network which offers
so much more to mums (or moms) everywhere - even our design has changed
    atleast three times!

Mumspace.net is here for the mothers of the world. At the moment, we
have released in beta, which means that we are continuing to improve
    our services every day.

    Privacy:

I would like my mumspace to appear in search engines like Google and Technorati.

I like this option.  It also makes it clear to new members that they can either have public or private content. Really important. Especially if you are putting up pics of your kids. That has been one reason why I do not put my kids on Tangler - it's public.

I like Mum Space. It is very easy to use. The 'themes' are a good idea - especially for someone like me who has never had a blog before. It's a good starting point and they are nice and creative.

This is one of those apps that is only useful if I can get friends to join. Then it would be great. I also wonder about mothers' groups. Here in Oz we are allocated a child health nurse clinic when we are discharged. You are then given the option of attending a mothers group. I still keep in contact with mine through quarterly dinners but we always lament how little we see each other and how long it has been since we have seen the kids. Something like this would be useful to at least keep us all in touch - see pics of the kids as they grow up etc... If we had been given something like this to use it would have been good.

My kids are both a bit older now and I am moving away from identifying myself solely as a mum (something that is easily done when they are very young and so dependent on you) so I don't know if I would join something called mumspace....

A nice looking site though and easy to use...

Mumspace is really growing. Great place to hang out.

    Any RSS coming?

    RSS as in what?

Thanks Mick. The userbase is growing, but any development is happening almost in parallel at the moment - which is not a good thing, and something I'd never recommend. Blame Marty for that one:)

There is a new rollout now scheduled for the 1st of next month, which will enhance the existing RSS to provide RSS for sitewide latest activity etc. Also included will be the addition of what we see as several key features eg. private messaging, subscription management etc. that will enable the site to continue growing.
