Could you maybe slow down the video information? It's scrolling too fast, and I had to wait 3 rounds before I got all the information... esp cos the words are so small as well.

Reasons to sign up are only to be found on the About page. There wasn't any info  when I went to the Sign In page itself. I think it might be beneficial to make prospective users aware of what the benefits of joining are, and to make it visible.

Are you looking at the site in Firefox or Safari?  The content tends to show a lot faster on these browsers than in IE.

Ah, yeah, the formmating of the content is pretty plain and simple.  Guess we are striving to make it easily readable for the viewers.  (All the graphical changes for a better looking UI will probably be added later...we're trying to see how people respond to the functionality first).

I think including something about song writing would be good. Just because a person can sing, doesn't mean they HAVE something to sing.Perhaps a person can write songs but can't sing? A guitarist/songwriter looking for a vocalist?

Mebe mentioning Country in the search?

And does "other" in Vocals mean "anything"?

the search seems a little too prescriptive and designed around the database rather than around how a user would want to use it.

Good point about the songwriting...I think we were thinking more of instrumentalist needs.

Are you referring to the Country search functionality?  You can do this in the Advanced Search pages...are you thinking that this functionality should be mentioned for the Basic Search pages?

"Other" is any other vocal that is not listed in the list.  If you wanted to search for "any" vocal, then you would just leave that search box blank/unmarked.

Some of the thumbnails are distorted...we put caps on the image file size that users upload to the site.  We also suggested the optimal pixel dimensions but I guess sometimes the fine print isn't read. 

How would you like the search functionality to operate?

Hmm dunno about the search - I'll think about it; it was on the top of my mind because I was thinking about this - which also is about matching people up (no it's not for a dating site lol) ... although that'd probably be a good place to start looking for ideas! I'll get back to you on it.

Cool idea about the car pooling - there is something similar here in San Francisco http://www.ridenow.org/carpool/

It's called "casual carpooling" in SF and it's not as organized as your proposal (there are no fixed schedules or exchange of money).

hehehe...that would be funny if the site turned into a dating site.
