Can someone give me a run down on the best ways to use Bittorrent. I've had a crappy internet connection up until now and I have never managed to be able to download anything. Now that I've got my ADSL2+ I want to try again.

So what downloader tool to use? do I go for a mainstream one like Auzareus? or just the Bit Torrent reader?

What sites to go to get reliable TV shows to download - I want the latest US TV shows plus I would love a few Aussie shows also?

Anyone with any experince with these new tools that subscribe and download the latests episodes?

Any tips and tricks for getting reliable downloads?

I certainly am not putting my hand up to help someone potentially infringe content.  Sorry Jodiem, documenting that stuff is dangerous. I know that for a fact.

Azureus is the best way to go, it has a large number of users and is a real trendsetter when it comes to features. uTorrent is a clone, but without the overhead of java.

The best way ive seen to pull down TV is to use RSS. There are some plugins for azureus (and its built into utorrent), but personally i prefer TVTAD. Its a seperate application that monitors the feeds, tracks your favourite shows and uses your own bittorrent client to pull them down. It "just works".

Apart from that the only other tips are to remove the xp SP2 max outgoing connection attempts (if you use xp), and make sure your router has UPNP (or you poke a hole yourself). And with dsl, dont upload too much, or it will kill your download. See how much you are able to able to upload and drop it a bit below that.

     And enjoy!
