one is not able to cut and paste from emails from outlook to the iphone.  i can sync via usb outlook calendar and contacts, but not notes.  you can get notes out of iphone via email to the computer and cut and paste to outlook notes, but the reverse is not possible. any ideas, or do i have to live without the capability?  wed

I don't know that I understand what your saying, do you mean there is no cut and paste on the phone (because there is not) or do you mean can you not move notes from the iphone to outlook's notes via a sync (and I think that is a no as well).

Of course this hasn't been substantiated by any real proof yet, so don't hold your breath. I'm not quite sure that it is all that necessary since you can't do any real word processing on it and all links, email addresses, and phone numbers are automatically linked.

Why would it be one of the most user requests then?

That's a good question. I think people think they want it. But can you think of any real use for it.

Perhaps copy and pasting text within emails.

i didn't think copy and paste was all that important either, but when you need it, you REALLY need it... some examples that have come up for me:

    1. copy an address from an appointment into google maps

    2. copy a phone number into a contact

    3. copy a todo/note into anywhere

Can you really not click on the address from an appointment? Could you not click on the phone number, end the call before it really calls, and then add to or create a contact? The todo/notes stuff is one area where it might be helpful (other than in email). The contact phone number is kind of a pain, but I am just afraid that any selection of text to copy and paste might be quite cumbersome and difficult to use.

no, you can't click on an address in an appointment

Indeed you're right. Wow. That's a mistake. There's even a location field so they should expect it to be an address. Seems like a large oversight for the UI team.

Yeah, maybe fixed in the next version.

Actually I'm pretty psyched about the new google location based stuff.
