do we want to take the url off the wiki, or do we care?

I don't care if it's on the wiki. I may even blog about it later this evening.

In the case of user levels, I'm wondering...would everyone even want to be an admin? Maybe we should just make anyone who wants to be an admin an admin, and if people don't want to add pages or whatever to the site, they can stay at non-admin level.

How are we going to handle folks visiting it and perhaps trying to create profiles & sign up before we have everything configured?

I know the LSW is about freedom, but with a site like this I think that making the default user level admin would be a bad idea. Giving them access manually as requested would be fine.

You can set up levels of permissions whihc will still allow them to create pages, and all kinds of other stuff, but would not give away the important security related admin capabilities.

Sorry, guess I AM turning to the darkside.  Have been assimilated into the IT Borg...

Yeah, I'm kind of with Chadwick on the darkside. Word-of-mouth has so far worked fine for the LSW, and I think it probably still will, but I think a handful of admins and everyone else just a notch down would be good.

I know with RadRef there are endless questions about how to post stuff to the site, and the admin people end up answering most of them and fixing the problems.

Agreed about user levels. I suspect most people don't want to be admins. I'd think the default new user should be allowed to post content to existing areas (sorry, don't have the Drupal lingo down yet) by creating their own posts or pages or whatever. We might want to have a semi-admin level available for the asking that allows people to create new content areas, help manage other users, etc., and save the godlike powers for just a few people.

Well, as little as I know about Drupal right now, I want to stay an admin, because I'm drunk with power. Or maybe just drunk.

I'm with Josh. Going home to drink....  to hell with the power.  LOL

Gosh, the LSW is in so many places now (FB, LinkedIn, FF, here, wiki, etc.), that I'm getting confused as to what is what and where is where.... lol

So, I haven't blogged about it yet. I guess I still think we should keep this relatively quiet for a bit. Maybe until Monday.
