  The smoke monster

  Anyone have any ideas on what that thing is?

  http://lost.cubit.net/indexView.php?id=498 has some speculation on its possible ability to shapeshift into people from the characters past (which would explain all the suddenly disappearing dead people, and also on it maybe being called Cerberus and the significance thereof

  Actually, more and more it looks as though they're dead but don't know it yet.. but I'm sure that's been specifically refuted in an interview

  Impressive Lost Theory

  I'm not that interested in working it all out in advance; I'd rather go through all the ups and downs they probably have planned - with TV series the journey tends to be better than the destination

  Who is Jacob?

  I don't think its likely to be Hurley or Sawyer... that would be a pretty big shocker and doesn't fit with their characters

  Hanso, maybe.. but the "others" were clearly hostile to the Dharma foundation so unless he sold out then it shouldn't be him

  Captain of BR ship is possible - nothing is known about this captain though so its impossible to say if the two are compatible fits (aside from the obvious inconvenience that the captiain of a 19th century slave ship probably wouldn't still be alive today.. hence the possibility of being a ghost I guess, a trapped spirit would explain "help me" and the dislike for modern technology) Hmm, actually old captain seems ever more possible

  Aside from that my guess would be that he's either Ben's imaginary friend, or something paranormal, or has some freaky technology (or natural characteristic) that makes him invisible

  Lost about Lost

  Starting halfway will mean you miss a ton of stuff and won't understand whatever amazing new revelation they come out with in the new episode (said with a healthy dose of sarcasm, but still a valid point)

  I wouldn't recommend it  to be honest - you could probably find the first 2 seasons DVDs for not too much, don't know about Season 3

  As I've said, downloads are easy to find using torrents (if you want any help with getting that working I can assist)

  Why do you watch Lost?

  season 3 is the latest

  I watch cause I'm enjoying it.. its a lot better than most of the crap on TV.. the characters have more than one dimension and getting to see their back-storys is pretty cool (expecially Sawyer) and at times it can be quite thought provoking (at others, just confusing - depends how tired I am at the time of watching)
