Might be a good excuse for me to fly up to Brissie, but will have to confirm later

    2008-05-15 21:15:36.0

Well I'm not signed up to facebook, but if you advise me of the location of the phone box in which you intend to hold your meeting, I will try to stay away.

    2008-05-15 21:19:43.0

oh andromeda, you are so FUNNY! Where do you get your material? I must know. No, really.

    2008-05-15 21:21:12.0

I get it from all the jokes that you post CR...

    2008-05-15 21:22:59.0

another zinger! wow! Your brain is like Robin Williams on coke. You are a true gem.

    2008-05-15 21:26:04.0

Sorry CR I don't do coke, I leave that sort of stuff for the likes of you to derive your inspiration from. (its got to come from somewhere, as it's certainly not science).

I believe that you read too many crazy books and depend too much on Wiki, instead of trying to discover facts for yourself. (it really shows).

    2008-05-15 21:35:06.0

Why put the invitation of Facebook?  Have you assumed that majority of Atheists who understand science and are Critical Thinkers etc... AND who have the means to be able to travel to Brisbane, either have or know someone with a Facebook account.

    2008-05-22 05:45:09.0

I was thinking maybe it is for security reasons but that doesn't make any sense.  If we look at this from a predestiny angle, if there was going to be a load of troublemakers turning up (you know the sort.. those people with a bit of education and learning about them) then it would be predetermined whether you put it on Facebook or advertised using a means with a wider reach.

    2008-05-22 05:49:33.0

Going via Facebook vs going via other advertising could result in different amounts of troublemakers - their actions are determined by our actions. The point of the predestination angle is that it was inevitable that he would choose Facebook :P

    2008-05-22 07:59:04.0

Who is "our", as in their actions are determined by our actions.

    2008-05-22 08:16:12.0

'Our' as in Cameron Reilly when "deciding" whether to go with Facebook or alternative advertising.

The events of the future are determined by the events of the past, so it would be faulty reasoning to assume that $FUTURE_EVENT will happen no matter what you do, because it's been predestined. But the whole progression from past to present to future is (or may be) determined by the initial state of things.

i.e. if "destiny" means that he will inevitably choose Facebook, then it is equally destiny that future scenario X will occur. But if he is predestined to not choose Facebook, then future scenario X is replaced with future scenario Y. So it would be wrong to say that future scenario X is predestined - we don't know what until we know whether he was destined to choose Facebook or not.

    2008-05-22 12:37:18.0

I can see that you are getting to grips with the $EVENT$//:SCRIPT Says FROMHERE:$IFtheend$else$noend$

    2008-05-22 15:08:20.0

or:  $STARTSHIT: If $INTERFACE soundscool or $SUBJECTS&SPOUTCRAP, Then $USEREGARDLESS Else ENDSHIT.

As you can see the If, then, else method is quite a good one, especially for stuff which involves analising a result to cause a further action from events..

    2008-05-22 15:42:15.0

    I think you meant analysing

    2008-05-22 16:09:50.0

    I hope you meant analysing....

    2008-05-22 16:10:12.0

Nah...he meant analising...talks outta his ass

    2008-05-22 16:12:31.0

    Laughing

    2008-05-22 16:12:58.0

    Wink

    2008-05-22 16:13:08.0

    Tongue out

    2008-05-22 16:13:16.0

It wasn't a spelling mistake or a Freudian slip...

    2008-05-23 02:40:22.0

And like heller says, some people do spend their lifetime talking out of their ass.  But I wouldn't presume to know anyone on this forum who does such a thing...

    2008-05-23 16:15:05.0

some people do spend their lifetime talking out of their ass

    I didn't actually say that

But I wouldn't presume to know anyone on this forum who does such a thing...

Surely you know of Cameron Reilly...

    2008-05-23 17:21:25.0

Apologies for mis-quoting you heller, it wasn't intentional...

    2008-05-24 13:08:21.0

    s'ok Smile

    2008-05-24 17:21:37.0

It's all gone quiete in here.  Maybe people are saving their dollars to travel to Brisbane on the 28th rather than spend it on electricity to go on-line.

    2008-06-05 01:47:08.0

    Three weeks to go...yippee...can't wait

    2008-06-05 05:43:18.0

Are you going then?  I wonder if there will be any food?

    2008-06-05 06:57:08.0

I'm sure that the Archbishops Cameron and Reilly. (not sure which one will be taking the hat round) will provide some finger food and a cuppa. (at a price of course).

I would love to go, but as I don't have a Facebook acount, the location of the phone box remains a mystery to me.

    2008-06-05 21:16:57.0

As this date is approaching, anyone interested in getting together on June 28 in Brisbane should feel free to email me for details: cameron@thepodcastnetwork.com

    2008-06-08 03:51:56.0

Never mind the advertising of your silly adolescent podcast Cam, just put the address on here so everyone can see it! (there's nothing to lose......Or is there)?

Or are you afraid that your pseudo church will be unpalatable to the general public?

First church I've heard of that keeps it's meeting places secret.

Spell it out Cam, "What have you got to hide" (or gain)

    2008-06-08 04:31:10.0

First there was the church of The Exclusive Bretheren and now we are faced with the church of The Elusive Cameron.

    Well done, Archbishop Reilly.

    2008-06-09 21:32:51.0

Andro, it really isn't exclusive.... all you need is a FB account. It's just a tool for creating an event, not a means of deception or conspiracy or any other label you might give it

    2008-06-09 21:43:37.0

Then why can't the organiser/founder fulfill the heading of this particular topic and tell all where it is at? All we have got is a date and city...Undecided

    2008-06-09 22:46:42.0

    That's pretty loony I reckon

    2008-06-09 22:47:36.0

C'mon dek, you obviously know the location. Why not use your exec position on Tangler and you tell us

    2008-06-09 22:49:22.0

I don't know it, but I can look it up.

Not that any one here has expressed an interest in going...

    2008-06-09 22:52:25.0

    Ahem...

    2008-06-09 22:55:56.0

    Three weeks to go...yippee...can't wait

    2008-06-09 22:56:33.0

    above somewhere

    2008-06-09 22:56:49.0

This is the first church that I have ever encountered that makes it mandatory to have a Facebook account to find out the location of the meetings.

I agree with Heller here,  (this has got to stop) why, oh why, if he is trying to attract members, doesn't he just post the bloody address of the meeting?

Methinks that "There is something rotten in the state of LOTU".

    2008-06-09 23:21:38.0

I'm just dissapointed that I've got to introduce 5 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere to fly to Brisbane and then what do I do?  Will the guy on the taxi rank at the airport know where the meeting is?  I suppose I'll just have to hope that it's the same in Brisbane as anywhere else with taxis, that is that all taxi drivers know where the all the major conventions are held...

    2008-06-10 01:31:14.0

I wouldn't get a Facebook account anyway.  One of the senior developers at our place showed me how it is possible to peep through their firewalls.

    2008-06-10 01:34:35.0

This is the first church that I have ever encountered that makes it mandatory to have a Facebook account to find out the location of the meetings.

Facebook, or an email address and amiable identity.

    2008-06-22 14:42:25.0

Amiable? Describes young Cameron to a T.

    2008-06-23 19:34:04.0

As all visitors to this topic will be aware, Archbishops Cameron and Reilly are keeping the location of their Brisbane LOTU meeting a secret. (unless you have a FaceBook account).

Don't forget that the meeting is planned for this coming Saturday (28th June).

In order to assist serious LOTU aspirants (sans FaceBook account) to attend the aforementioned meeting, I have (at enormous expense) obtained a photo of the proposed venue.

I have to admit that I was in error when I originally suggested that the meeting would be held in a phone box, and I am sure everyone will agree with me, that this location (pictured below) will provide considerable relief for anyone in attendance, who may be greatly moved by the Rev Reilly's sermon, and/or subsequent alms collection.

    2008-06-26 02:09:14.0

Well the 28th has come and gone.  It must have been reilly something to be there, it's pity that I didn't have a few thousand quid spare to travel down there.  I could have taken in a few sights as well.  Shame reilly.  I am a bit taken aback that it didn't make the BBC news.  Such erudite gatherings of critical thinkers normally make the Pacific Rim slots on BBC World.  Perhaps I should have been tuned to FOX or CNN..

    2008-06-30 12:04:28.0

I'm beginning to feel a bit of dissapointment that there has been no references to the outcome of this meeting anywhere (Except maybe on facebook).

Maybe the attendees are still too flushed by the experience to be able to report...

    2008-07-17 08:14:01.0

It looks like a case of "grim radio silence"

    2008-07-31 14:50:36.0

    Maybe no one turned up??

    2008-07-31 21:34:33.0

Rubbish Andro.  We are talking about an event organised by someone with very few peers in their field of expertise.  It must have been well attended...
