I have been thinking the same thing, I am wondering what you have learned since?

What suggestions would you have for someone that was thinking of switching from a blog?

Er.....? the same thing as what?

I saw a post that Marty said he stopped blogging and I was thinking of starting a forum instead using Tangler.

I would like to see more of the road map that Tangler has planned before I make a commitment and switch.

It's been interesting and I don't think using Tangler as a personal blogging tool is for everyone. I've enjoyed it though and find it considerably lighter weight.

I also like the fact that people seem to feel more apt to post and comment in an ongoing way -- even creating new topics that might be interesting, like you just did. That isn't for everybody.

We'll publish a revised roadmap in a few weeks - we're just setting out the Q4 stuff at the moment. You can expect mostly better customisation/skinning, integration tools, reputation, tagging and things like RSS and email notification - we haven't set the priority order of those things yet.

There is definitely more people engaged in having a conversation in a forum. Any plans for allowing embded objects?

You mean support embedding things inside the tangle? or embedding the tangle into other things...
